The existing natural features are already directing deer through the area, but we wanted to define the movement and make it more predictable for better shot opportunities. By pinching down the movement even further with the help of a couple of strategically placed habitat changes, we can guide deer in front of the stand and ultimately prevent them from getting behind and downwind.

We had venison tacos last night.
I’ve seen deer and moose stand 100 yards away from where a pack of hounds is treeing on a bear. Also seen deer stand in a field where we were shooting geese firing off 100 shells. Deer don’t care about things that aren’t directed towards them. Slip into a field at dusk quiet as can be and let a deer catch your wind or snap a stick and then watch them take off.
@@Trythis837 yea, I’ve had them come up to the yard right after sighting in my muzzleloader. And you’re right about sneaking around…they immediately pick up on that.
Yep , they don’t pay much attention to it ,
I’ve seen the same with dogs sometimes as well. The deer just watch in that direction but don’t seem bothered by it.
I have them in the timber. Created them over time (25 years) as we needed to get to places to retrieve deer on atvs. The deer now use them all fall.
