Are these stereotypes bad when the canon lore is bad as it doesn’t have any actual characterization, is retcon a lot and you need to look at extra material in order to understand it I’m really just asking? Also when was Micheal ever a Gary Stu? As in many AU he’s still punished for his actions and try to make it up to them. Espically since in the canon lore he’s really shafted for an out of nowhere Henry moment where he gets all of the spot light.

Things that I forgot to add: - William's weakness being water even though the springlocks are already inside of him so water would do nothing but rust the springlocks (assuming their metal) making them softer and less painful. - Ennard having to fix all the Afton Family's problems but still is treated as the main reason for Michael's Death (Sister Location doesn't exist apparently) - Elizabeth being rude to Michael because she loves her dad, even though in sister location when she thought Michael was William she was extremely rude, angry, and willing to do anything to escape -CC not using his golden freddy abilities more - Mrs Afton being the weakest afton because yes apparently. - William allergic to fire apparently even though he survived 2 And last but not least... - Most Aftons hate William but they never kick him out of the house for being evil

I have a second au of micheal being the one whos very loyal to william and loves him sm(not romanticly obviously thats just ew),and they both actually have a good relationship despite being assholes,elizabeth and susie sended them both to ucn,william joined first and micheal joined later,but they then escape micheal and william are merged souls so they can feel the others pain and emotions,their theme song it partners in crimes by set it off

my AU either is the complete opposite of those troupes, OR takes those troupes and adds layers to it. like, i characterized elizabeth as someone who can never let an wrongdoing go, so as soon as she became aware of william’s manipulation, she resented him, but also *herself* for trusting him for so long, and is basically trying to prove to herself she isn’t dumb/oblivious by riding the william hate train a little…too much. on the flip side, evan, in my AU, after being called a crybaby, weak, dumb, etc etc, by micheal…(who isn’t abused or anything, he’s just kinda spoiled and wasn’t taught not to do it cause everyone hates evan/thinks he needs it to toughen up)…evan just kind of internalized that message and actually blamed *himself* for the bite of 83, coming to the conclusion that “if i wasn’t such a crybaby, micheal would have never gotten that idea to prank me, and i could still be around to save my sister.” micheal did kinda go through a “shit am i actually a bad person” arc, but both he and evan have no idea how to approach their problems first hand, due to one being a child and the other being traumatized and not knowing how to talk about feelings, so they just kind of either co-exist or are very, very awkward. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

The best way to make your AU interesting is to try to act out the characters as yourself. I write that way, I kinda pretend to be the character. How would I feel about forgiving Micheal? How would I feel if I was Elizabeth? If I want to understand William I have to understand his ideaologies. Why is he obsessed with immortality? Does he love his children? If not, does he really hate them? You can't just copy paste what everyone does, you gotta psychoanalyze the characters/watch character analysis videos/watch theory videos and try to make your own interpretation

In my (VERY purposefully non cannon) AU, it’s obvious cc (Evan) is my fav cause I give him like a ton of random traits that I have (and don’t have) Also he’s dyslexic 4 some reason cause in my AU he’d def be like “Wth does that say” And Liz would start crying cause she’s 5 and hate swears (even tho he’ll isn’t a swear)🤩

Everyone tried so hard to be non-stereotypical that they created a new stereotype. Honestly, stop caring about it. Making videos about the Aftons and your FNaF AU is supposed to be FUN, not worrying about who’s gonna call you stereotypical. Who cares if you have something that doesn’t go along with the canon? It’s called an AU FOR A REASON.
