So I clicked on this, thinking it were a take on blink as a relic option, but still good stuff and I agree 100%. I'd rather it be like the old combat blink upgrade that was around for a short time. Do you have an opinion on having blink be the default relic instead of beads, or to have the option? I know fineo has been pretty adamant about it, so I'd be curious to hear another pros opinion.

Interesting does not mean good. Removing the limitations of wind up by allowing blink mid animation seems flawed on multiple levels. Also, designing S2 around pro conquest only will be great for those players. The rest won't bother or eventually leave. I know I was done w S1 after years of the imbalance mess. S2 has an opportunity, but fk it up and I'm gone for good.

League of Legend's high skill ceiling comes from executing combos with blink. We need this feature aswell in Smite 2. Compensation we can do for Combat Blink is that you're not allowed to Combat Blink in animation, but rather allow blink when you're damaging or getting damaged which is currently disabled in Smite 1. ( you can't blink for 3 seconds if you received or dealt damage )

I think an overall rule pass should be made to allow or disallow relics during given ults. The way vamana can use relics in his but cthulu can't. All channeled abilities should be that same way.

I think the trick for balancing this form of blink would be to add a condition similar to the "No damage taken" one on smite 1 regular blink. Though instead have it be a "Don't move for 1~2 seconds" so stationary abilities or setting up ambushes is the only time it can be used to take a player really off guard.

The LOL comment on flash is a good one. League having flash and its mandatory for everyone to have at this point. Its arguable that its not a good mechanic

It’s already established in league and it makes the game way more aggressive and creates mind games and outplay potential. I wouldn’t play league if it had beads instead of flash, and there are certain abilities that lock out flash like Thor ult or da ji ults.

Add some sort of out of combat time requirement room for counterplay? Could be 1 sec, might keep the wow factor possibility, just without necessarily lowering the ceiling too much. Also could define the combat to be dmg by God's and not minions, just to keep it spicy?

Disabling for certain gods does sound pretty lame to me 😅. If they can reduce the dmg/cc duration if used mid animation (without pulling out all their teeth) that would be cool (hopefully this would allow a similar design philosophy and lessen the pressure to back-change like you mentioned). It was fun to see and mess around with at least!

Imma have to agree with ya and say leave it out cuz of development purposes. But Idc what they do just gotta adapt.

So I'm picturing a meta where the dive blinks, and backline blinks the blink in response. If used optimally they seem like wasted items that result in a lose-lose, and if the backline doesn't buy it, it seems like they'll just get abused now that aegis is gone, which will limit builds by having a must build item. I never played the test or even watched it, so idk how it will function or what it builds off of, but in my head it seems bad and probably pushes mages out of mid even more. Will be interesting to see how it plays though.

Imo its cool but too random. Im thinking about roaming ults too like Thanatos/Rat. I think people are ok with it because of the limited characters that can do it. The cases with all 100+?....nah man. Like you said, there are other things to focus on. I can also see this as more frustrating for the general player pool to deal with.
