Never recommending! I recently visited Doctor Cherry's 360 Skin Clinic for acne treatment and consulted with Dr. Afi Afzal, who trained under Dr. Sarah Fazy (Dr. Cherry). From the very first appointment, Dr. Afzal prescribed me Acnetrex (isotretinoin) for one month, combined with Deruva (adapalene) and Clindamycin gel. Along with these medications, I was advised to undergo facial treatments and laser sessions, costing more than LKR 100,000. Dr. Afzal did not ask for any blood tests, lipid profile tests, or even inquire about my marital status, which is critical considering the medication's side effects. Upon my follow-up visit after one month, despite no improvement in my acne and severe skin irritation, I was prescribed another month of Acnetrex. Only later did I discover that it is required to conduct blood tests, liver function tests, and lipid profiles before and during isotretinoin treatment, as it can significantly impact liver enzymes and lipid levels. It is also crucial to ensure that the patient is not pregnant due to the severe teratogenic effects of isotretinoin. Furthermore, the combination of oral isotretinoin with topical treatments like adapalene can exacerbate skin irritation, which may have hindered the healing of my acne. I immediately underwent the necessary tests and found that my cholesterol levels were alarmingly high. However, it is unclear if this was a pre-existing condition or a result of the medication, as no baseline tests were conducted before starting the treatment. When I brought these concerns to Dr. Sarah Fazy, she dismissed the idea that isotretinoin could elevate cholesterol levels, despite this being well-documented in medical guidelines and easily verifiable online. She also incorrectly stated that combining isotretinoin with topical adapalene is safe, which contradicts established medical advice. In light of this experience, I do not recommend Doctor Cherry's 360 Skin Clinic. Their lack of awareness regarding basic medical guidelines and failure to conduct essential tests have led to significant health risks and ineffective treatment. Patient safety and proper medical practices should be their priority, but my experience suggests otherwise.
