Georgie looked a lot better, regardless of the score. We were flying the first period, but it was all NYI periods 2 and 3. Puck seemed to hop over our sticks, or bounce off our sticks, where the Islanders were crisp. We need to beat the B's tomorrow/Weds night, and it won't be easy....at all.

Great takes Meghan, I always love hearing your perspective. I'm sick of the downers, things will come together for this team. They have a lot of their best players out and have inserted new players who are still learning the system, new to the NHL and tonight had to also contend with new lines. These guys don't like loosing and I have a strong belief that Bednar and the team will turn things around soon.

I’ve been wanting to avoid this. Boys, my family are immigrants. I grew up watching both parents work several jobs to make ends meet. Holidays, birthdays you name it. The one thing that made my family stay close was sports. I grew up watching my dad, cheer and cry to Elways broncos and even Sakic’s avs. Some of my best memories was my dad crying when the avs won the Stanley cup. Late 21’ my father was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He passed away several months after we won in 22. We watched every game that run in a hospital bed. You did him proud. I carried his ashes with me during the Seattle series and Dallas. I just whispered “these boys will be back”. Being at both home games this year. I don’t recognize this team. But I keep holding on that you boys will raise this cup once again and my father will be smiling from heaven. I was diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. I just wanna be able to watch from my death bed. Boys. Please. Turn this around

Not using this as an excuse but team is a bit depleted. Toews and Drouin didn’t play. Lehky, Val (no matter how you feel about him) and Gabe we all know are out. A lot of new faces that take some time to get used to the system. The Avs were 4-5-1 after 10 games in 2022 and 2 of those losses were to the Blue Jackets. Is goaltending a concern? Sure. But at least we didn’t take an $8 million per year cap hit on a goalie that has been lit up for 4 goals in 2 games *cough* Swayman *cough* lol

Obviously tonight the team was awful but guys tend to try to do too much & be perfect when ya don't trust your goaltenders,& are missing 4 top 6 forwards,& top 10 NHL Dman. Unlike the 1st 2 games-Giorgev was not the main reason you lost. But the 2 goals that went in 1st period were both complete mental errors by him after mistakes by teammates...not sealing the post,& the missed poke check. Just looked completely unconfident & indecisive. You can't tell me this team didn't subconsciously play outside themselves after that. I never played hockey but it's obvious a team with no confidence in goaltending will try to cheat,& do too much-mostly subconsciously. And while it's true,has Bednar ever offered more in damning with faint praise than "tonight was Giorgievs best game of the 3..." Ya but the 1st 2 he wasn't even an NHL caliber goalie. But progress tonight to a below average NHL caliber goalie with not much confidence right now!
