DJI Pocket 3, Pro level video made easy !
Going over my experience with the Pocket 3, I tried avoiding the same main talking points other RUclipsrs have mentioned. Mostly focused on providing additional info that I haven't seen other creators cover.

    Build your own. Even if you have to do it in little sessions over a long time. It's very rewarding and youll have way more confidence in that gear. Plus you can repair when you inevitably crash.

    I've actually had a similar experience with the Avata 1. I crashed it upside-down into the ground, but when I pressed the motor off switch, it kept beating itself into the ground about 3 more times before automatically turning off. From the experience as a pilot who has build most classes of fpv drone, I find that the fun of the avata comes from the almost goofy way it flies and the convenience to carry. There aren't really any FPV drones that can be thrown into an ordinary backpack and carried anywhere. It's a terrible first quad, but a good option if you need the convivence or just want to have fun with a new quad style.

    I do recommend using the low light mode even in poor lighting conditions, because I figured, that the image quality in low light situations is always better than using the normal (auto) mode and this makes sense too, it's designed for.

    DJI consumer products are great... And they suck. The O3 for example is nice. But if you try to fly it with the FPV goggles and remote that came with the DJI FPV. Forget it You'll never find anything more unreliable.

    Agree with you 100%, though I’d further recommend to anyone that decide to get one, is be prepared to learn how to operate the camera. It has a big screen but the average fingertip will have some difficulty navigating the interface on the touch screen. I own and still have all the different Pocket cameras👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😄

    There are plenty of other ways to get into the fpv hobby without building your own. You can start with an emax rtf (ready to fly) bundle. There are also other kits like it, such as betafpv, geprc and many more. You can also get some affordable goggles and transmitters. You could get eachine ev800d goggles as its an amazing goggle to get into the hobby. For the transmitter, any radiomaster would do the job. And for tbe drone you could get a whoop (happymodel whoops are great and very durable) or if your looking for something larger, the iflight nazgul Evoque is a great, durable, powerful done.

    I'm sorry about your experience. I was never a drone guy. But I got in to adventure sports and decided to add Air footage for my videos. After some simulation drills. I started flying the FPV and then the AVATA. I took everything very slow and can't say I ever had a problem. I do admit I have not flown full Manuel. But I do plan on the near future. I never got the insurance. I'm also very careful where I fly. I try and fly over very secure areas and I usually have a spotter. I also fight the urge to fly over large bodies of water. I'm very happy with my DJI drones and can't wait to get the AVATA 2. Cheers!!

    It’s good but the next one should have space for the ND filters in storage mode, more motion range for low shots, a point to add the mic2 to. Agree on the case, it damages the metal arm through wear and the lens rotates out instead of in and gets unprotected. It should also get proper dlog without the m.

    Very good informative video! I got the Avata 1 a year ago to experience the FPV vibe and I was instantly hooked on it! But I also understood that Avata will never give me the real FPV feeling as it’s slow, not agile, not customizable and can’t handle a GoPro or another quality action camera. So I finally got a BOB57 few months ago and man, that thing is a beast! But I also realized that while Avata won’t give you the ultimate FPV experience, it is still great to learn manual mode as you can just push the emergency brake button if you loose control or panic. Just don’t make that a habit!

    Why buy DJI's FPV and not build your own? In FPV you crash a lot. That's why it's better to build your own and you can repair it easily with very few $$. But you did the right. You chased them and they at least somehow reimbursed you. Keep flying m8!

    If you ask me, it looks like lost connection (failsafe) for a moment and then a series of chaotic moves, probably with some delay due to bad connection. The qaud at full speed does not go up as quickly, you might never recover from dive sometimes. Unfortunately, tech limitations with low piloting skills in risky environment equals lost drone. Practice in simulators, there is lots of great fpv simulators nowadays. Good luck!

    I had the Avata 2 lose connection at 1200' away from my homepoint over water and never saw it again. It should have RTH but didn't. DJI did not offer any sort of discount to me, had to pay $200 for another one.

      There is a glitch that another RUclipsr posted, when avata 2 is in RTH and regains partial connection (no visuals or controls) it starts descending for some reason. Could be what happened to you ? Do you have the goggle feed back up?

    Lesson learned, dont fly acro above water unless you are a pro at it. Just dont do it bro. Not to mention the cash you are dropping for DJI FPV's you could have gotten tons of kits. Its not hard at all to build a fpv drone. I get your issue but like DJI said unfortunately a very large part of that was your fault. DJI needs to stay away from FPV drones. Its making amateurs think they can do things that pros do smh. Get a cheaper kit, learn acro above ground then toss you wont even want a DJI FPV drone. Lastly.... stay away from water. Ya dont see the pros flying over water very often because if you get a signal glitch there goes your drone.

    Sorry mate, but this is just user error. You started the flight with a gimbal error so you should have calibrated the gimbals before flying. I'm not saying that the DJI FPV or the Avata's are foolproof but they are much more reliable then any rtf or self-build drone out there. If you can't accept that you are losing quads or things going wrong every now an then maybe the FPV hobby isn't for you.

    • @ZittyTV
      @ZittyTV Месяц назад

      There’s no indication in the goggles that the sticks need to be calibrated, you only get that prompt in the flight logs on the phone. DJI are still scamming users with the CARE plan. Great intro drones as I said, but a scam nonetheless

    Sigh. I have to admit a generation gap. I posses a private pilot single engine land instrument rating plus a complex, tail wheel and gyroplane endorsements. I have never engaged in video games and find the controls for drones very alien. Full disclosure I also have my commercial drone license. Why hasn't a joy stick interface which can be used with the DJI system or others which is more cockpit -like familiar flight controls be offered? It seems even the ground based expensive controller still have the fiddly controls and buttons. Too bad a gamer designed the interface and left out a vast segment of the market. Give me a throttle, stick and rudder with an attitude indicator, altitude, etc ie the basic six pack scan. It's all there just scattered and displayed in a manner which is non standardized and foreign to those who pre date and presently exist in the air.

    • @sea_kerman
      @sea_kerman Месяц назад

      It’s because a flight yoke and throttle cannot physically be moved fast enough to perform the needed actions. The inertia of the stick and your arm/hand is too high. During some of the more involved racing and freestyle maneuvers you need to go from full deflection one way to full deflection the other way, and zero to full throttle to zero, several times per second. Your thumb and a small gimbal are light enough to do this. You can try flying in Liftoff with a HOTAS to see this, you can do slow swoopy flight ok but faster maneuvers are impractical. Also, you can stick a Radiomaster Boxer in a backpack, you can’t really with a big flight stick.

    • @whiteheadedkid

      DJI has released a joy stick controller. It is the motion controller that they released with the Avata and Avata 2

    Great video, all the more reason for drone operators to hold off until the O4 VTX Air Unit is available. The #dji #avata2 is absolutely unrepairable by the operator, to change a cracked prop guard, you will have to ship the entire drone off to DJI.

    And it not Dji's fault its yours's sorry to tell i have been flying for over 8 years now and from what i see user error don't blame others for your stupidity, 1 - check your gear before flying - pre flight check 2 - fly in a safe place where you can get your drone back if you crash not over water 3- always fly with a spotter 4 - always fly were no people or animals are around so you dont hurt anyone.

    • @ZittyTV
      @ZittyTV Месяц назад

      Checking your channel, if that's your skill level after 8 years, I don't really have any use for your input. I did 4/5 of your "suggestions" and flying over water is not the issue. Dji still denied any malfunction and id much rather it crash in the water without risking hitting someone/something on the ground.

      @@ZittyTV well i could out fly you any day as you could not fly acro and freestyle, but as far as you crashing your new dji drone in the water its user error now you just lost the money you paid for that nice new DJI Drone that worked perfectly fine and crashed at the hands of the user which is you and now you cry like a little baby because you lost your new drone and nobody feels sorry for you. I still have all my drones yes i crash but i still have them where yours? Lmao ITS NOT DJI FAULT.
