there are no comparisons to be made, it is too obvious that 1953 wins without discussion, and I would have loved for Charles III to deserve a solemn coronation in exactly the right style of 1953. I'm not saying to imitate that of Made, but not to see any the difference

There was no need for this show. We wont learn from it .Much bigger problems are looming for millions because of our fear of standing up to the establishment.

Anti Catholic clap trap . Saville was actually a profilic and powerful pedo because the Protestant elite equipped and enabled him . The front line workers who turned a blind eye to his evil were in the main Protestant.

Where is the prof that Saville was a Catholic ??? The religious programs he presented were for the COE . Yet again the bigoted broadcaster cooperation . Gas light their own capability for past injustices Passing the buck on to an Italian ice cream seller when it was Protestant executives who emboldened and empowered Saville .

They didn’t say he was catholic, it merely demonstrates how he used the monarchy, the Vatican, Thatcher and the police, to give himself an air of authentic aura. Basically for 50 odd years it worked.

There are two issues here, Hitler gets plenty of coverage lest we forget and Steve Coogan was sensational in his masterly portrayal of this vile creature. This degenerate must be recognized and vilified.

My mother's granny was born in the 1890's, seen this guy on telly in the 70's. She used to do the Jimmy Saville walk in Dublin, my mum and her sisters took part, the year she was dying, it was before the walk she said "Girls, do me a favour and never do that walk. Dont go near the cunt."

I found the drama interesting revealing the true monster he was. It’s a shame that the bbc broadcast this and don’t seem to have learned anything from it or made strong enough policy to prevent it. I also think that this lets too many people off the hook. Particularly career celebrities that knew about it and put careers before morality by keeping quiet. There are a good few of those monsters that need exposing and prosecution. So mixed feelings about the quality of this drama

I don't watch the BBC these days, nor do I have a TV licence but what I've seen of this series in clips seems a little lame to me. I think Coogan is great and the support cast are undoubtedly quality but it's all a bit 'surface level' in terms of Saville himself, anecdotal and, to say the least, complimentary to the BBC, which is a nonsense. Does anyone understand Saville any better now and perhaps why someone ends up like that or how they got away with it? I seriously doubt it. Opportunity missed from the bits I've seen.

I really want to see this show! I’m in Australia and I don’t know if it will be seen here. Does anyone have a link for it? As someone who didn’t grow up with Savile I just can’t understand his appeal to people. Such a weird creepy man. and a creepy relationship with his mother, keeping her clothes and room as it was, dry cleaning the clothes every so often. Weird. No. More than weird. Psychopathic.

No mention of all those that covered this up at the BBC for years. It all came to “light” once Saville was dead, and couldn’t spill the beans on his fellow high profile nonces. That he was a mastermind who had everyone conned insulting

You’d think Coogan might bring some unintended humour to this role (given his performances in the likes of Alan Partridge, Tropic Thunder, Around the world in 80 days etc.) but no, he’s absolutely stone cold here. Absolutely amazing performance.

Savile wasn't particularly funny as a man, and was also not a comedian. I suspect he was much like Coogan's performance. The way he brandishes his charity work to fend off the BBC official seems to have been one of the methods with which he held off awkward questions and enquiries.
