Had one the same bought it brand new ,fished for 3 seasons fair boat had a 75 Honda fished the firth of lorn off Mull . Preferred my older 17 foot dory slapped a bit but a much more stable platform. Good luck.

I believe from researching the DF4-5-6 at least from 2003-2010 are identical, Just the Df4 has an throttle stop in place wich can be removed and an other thermostat and carberator! I myself have the exact same as yours the DF5 From 2006 its behind my boat but with 4 people its just to slow, I checked al the parts and turns out the DF5 doesn’t have any throttle stops and even the thermostat is the same (50C) as the DF6! The only 2 differences in both engines is the intake but it only has to do with gas cable placement on top so thats no issue and you can leave it alone, and the carberator part it self and the jets! So I am debating getting an 2006 DF6 Carberator and it should be identical to a Df6 so inturn give me 6HP instead of 5! Have you got any knowledge on this?
