A very great song from our church indeed,,I just taught our choir this version and its amazing how it has come out,
Song written by Fanny Crosby, she was Methodist and the song is a Methodist Episcopal church. In the seventies, a Seventh-day Adventists music committee that included, pastor Yaze, Pastor Buwa, and Pastor Mayaba did a Xhosa translation to be included in the Xhosa hymnal. While the song is is now officially a public domain song, since 2015, it certainly doesn't belong to the Seventh Day Adventist church, both by creation and copy right. To their credit, it is them that made it popular to Xhosa black community.
