The Akatamanso war was not Anglo -Ashanti. The British were not fully involved, only sixty British soldiers. Asantes brought 40,000 fighting force. The Akyems and Coastal allies brought 40000 or more to defeated Asante in a fierce battle in 9 hours. So sixty British soldiers in this war is insignificant. The Coastal Allies won their wars.

Know that Asante was also a collective of tribes and ppl that Akomfo Anokye brought them together

Never forget that the Asantes too were aided by the Dutch. Ashanti had military pact with the Dutch. The Dutch supplied them with gun powerders. More so, Asantes too had many tribal local allies like the mossi people, Dangobas and most of the tribes from the north's.

They all came together to fight the Asante at Dodowa. If they were alone , they would not have won the battle. It was all the GA Adangbe, Akuapim, Akyem and other coastal state who fought the Asantes

@@benedictafoakwa2377 The interesting thing is that almost every tribe in modern day Ghana has been part of Asanteman until some of these tribes especially those at the coast called on the British for protection against Asante.

Don’t mind those jokers; it was the British, who together with them, Akyem, Ga Damgbe, Nfante, Akuapem, Kwawu, etc. fought that war against Asante. Who among them can stand against the great Asante kingdom alone at that time?
