I often wondered how the Soviet Union, who tended to make things functional over aesthetics (vostok amphibia and other rough but incredibly robust watches) would somehow give the go ahead for a watch/movement like the poljot/luch deluxe, which went for aesthetics over almost any functionality. I mean it was the thinnest affordable watch it was possible to buy anywhere! Love the old factory footage though. Where did they source their quartz movements from? I've got an 80s luch quartz watch - it's true about the quality going down hill then, it's just the blandest thing and the watch stem is awful - but the movement is so accurate, I only have to adjust it when the clocks change.
