Kolby Wood is the Arthroscopy Capital Leader - Central US for a large publicly traded Medical Device company. He has been in Medical Device Sales for over 10 years and has climbed his way up the ladder in the industry.
Over the past 10+ years, Kolby has come across many people wanting to get into Medical Sales but they haven't had the medical background or sales experience to break into the industry. In 2018, Kolby founded the Medical Sales Certification Program as a solution to that problem many people face.

Hey Kolby, my name is Lucas and I live in Phoenix Arizona. I've been working sales (B2B) for almost 4 years now and looking to get into medical device sales as a career change. There is a lot more to the story which I hope I could potentially share with you at some point as well as pick your brain on a few things but I have a question right off the bat. Before this job, I was studying at a community college in the Chicagoland area but left early just short of my associate's degree in Biology to move to Arizona and work for my family's business which is what I do currently. How likely am I to get into this industry without a 4-year degree? Also, what should my next step look like moving forward? Id be taking a huge initial pay cut but it sounds promising that I would make much more after I got promoted into a full time sales rep. Are you in the OR? Why don't hospitals let their customer (patient ) know you are in the room with them. With my husbands surgery my husband nor I were even able to read a consent or were told a rep would be there. This is just not right.

Pro tip. All of this can be easily bullshitted in an interview. Research the company website. Mirror the interviewer and regurgitate their verbiage. Ask thoughtful questions. Close hard. Ask for job.
