Turnigy 9XR Virtual 3rd stick
Просмотров 2 тыс.10 лет назад
Another quick 9XR tutorial. Jon and I were discussing the 3rd stick hacks we'd seen don on the 9X and 9XR, when Jon says "maybe you could just use the mixing to flip a switch, and suddenly run 2 different channels with the stick that's already there? It would be great for running the APM in Auto or Loiter modes!" So I promptly went about seeing if I could. As with most 9XR mixing for me, it see...

We did do several videos testing the 2 planes side by side. It has been a while. It was a good wing design both for its ease of build but also for its stability. All of my favorite plans were my KF builds. There is a whole playlist of Project Big Step. It was a lot of fun to do.

Well, I'm impressed! The KFm-3 looks hokey at first glance and much like a bumblebee, it shouldn't work aerodynamically, but somehow, it does anyway! Plus, the ease of construction and added strength at the expense of only a slightly decreased foil efficiency would seem to be a good trade-off. Overall, a perfectly viable way to build an aircraft.

hello, thank you for your great video here. I own a quadcopter and 9xr RX. I would like to mix the YAW control with one of the sliders (P1-3). I would like, being on hovering state, to use one of the sliders in order to get a steady 360 degree panorama view video. Do you have any suggestions?

I tried this recently and the only reason mine was better is because it was in a small area. I use a 2.1mm lens on my mini quad which made the plane dissapear with a little distance. Hopefully a 2.8mm will help with that. Keep it up.

I am running an APM 2.5 I had a pot mapped to P tuning and I was trying to adjust it at the beginning of the flight. My tail pivot had loosened up a lot. I am printing a new one (of my own design) and plan to try that next. I really think that was the problem, I will let you know.

Hey mate that's pretty awesome. I'm trying this setup on a fixed wing APM but not quite getting it sorted. I have my mode switch mixes on ch8 so I have a set of mixes like yours but on ch 5 & 6 using the Ele switch. When I flick the switch my right gimbal outputs to ch 5 & 6 instead of the elevator and aired on but if I plug servos into outputs 5 & 6 on the APM the servos don't respond. Got me puzzled. Any idea what I could be doin wrong? I'm also running CPPM from an Orange OpenLRS UHF but I can't see that matters as everything else is doing as it's supposed to... Any help would be much appreciated mate.

    • @SKT260873

Disregard mate. APM had ch 5 & 6 output set to 'Disabled'. Easy fixed. Thx for the awesome mix setup vid mate.

Great videos on the 9XR! Very helpful. My preference on my all model setups is that all switches on the radio are in their down position when ready to go. Makes it easy to remember the radio setup for a plane when you have >20 planes. I used this video but configured it with THR instead of !THR.

Interesting test guys. The KFM will have higher drag - separation is drag. The chief advantage I can see of the KFM is ease of construction on some models. Our models are relatively draggy and over powered, so it's a hard thing to measure. Thus the difference may not have been obvious in this test. A boat operates differently. Steps on a boat hull cause an aeration of the flow between the water and the surface, reducing the contact area, but not increasing lift on the hull.

Same principle is applied to high speed boats. It's called a 'stepped hull' and it's all about reducing friction.
