Earlier today, I went up to Shawford to see the RailAdventure run from Kidderminster dropping off some flat wagons and ex-GLV barrier coaches, one I saw it at Shawford, I went to Eastleigh to see it on the return runs. Built between 1998 and 2015 in London, Ontario and Muncie, Indiana, the class 66 is a locomotive introduced to replace 1960s class 37s, 47s, 57s and even the relatively new at the time class 60. Due to the characteristic engine idle noise, the class has gained the nickname "Ying Yings" as well as "Sheds" due to the shape and, the fact they are as common as garden sheds.

Built between 1999 and 2000, the class 67s were introduced with EWS on high-speed mail and passenger trains. Built by Alstom at Meinfesa in Valencia Spain, the fleet consisted of 30 locomotives. The high-speed mail services ran until 2004. Now, the class is primarily used by Transport for Wales on long-distance services from Manchester to various destinations in Wales.
