Why do you want to refer to this neighborhood in such a derogatory way? The historic areas of Racine were established by very upscale citizens, and today, like many cities, have their challenges that are worked on and recognized by our city officials, including our very fair and diligent professionals who work in law enforcement. Racine has far fewer crimes than it did several years ago. There are 'Cop Houses' throughout the older neighborhoods that make up the vast majority of what you call the "Hood." It is a term that is very insulting to the many historical areas of Racine rich in culture. It is very telling that you lack your history, background, and understanding of these neighborhoods' diversity, ethnicity, and culture. Perhaps you should extend yourself and step out of the vehicle you are using to conduct your drive-by of the community to meet some honest, hardworking moms and dads who are not involved in crime but are only interested in putting a decent meal on the table. So, I beg to differ on your very low opinion of the diverse neighborhoods rich in culture. Your most heinous crimes are taking place in our public schools, shopping centers, and malls due to the lack of gun safety. So, it is worth suggesting that it is more beneficial for you to not disregard the facts but focus on the elephant in the room.
