Adding a shelf to my Smittybilt Scout
In this installment of #wilburyoverland we head back to the welding shop to install a shelf into the generator compartment of my #smittybilt #scout to make room for my #dutchovens. It's an awesome improvement that maximizes the space in a nook that would otherwise not be functional for my needs.

Installing a Camp Chef grill on my Smittybilt Scout

Today’s episode focuses on some of the most major changes we have made yet on our #smittybiltscout. We are adding a #Campchef to the main compartment, installing an 11lb. #powertank propane tank mount, and custom space for the storage of our griddles above the Camp Chef, and finally a #kidde fire extinguisher mount.

In this episode we set up the Newport Trolling Motor Battery Box and the NOCO Genius cable so my Smittybilt Scout will finally have standalone power. This episode is part one as once i have power working I intend to install some magnetic LED lighting.

Adding space for a table and benches on my Smittybilt Scout

This is the biggest change we have made to the Scout yet! In this episode we remove an aftermarket steel box and weld angle iron to the top of the main compartment to create space for a Lifetime table and benches. Also, an update on getting our new 2024 TRD Offroad iForce Max Toyota Tacoma
Repairing holes in my Smittybilt Scout.

We were so fortunate to acquire this Smittybilt Scout second hand. By and large this trailer is exactly what we are looking for. The previous owner did a BUNCH of customizing which includes punching dozens of holes into the Scout's exterior. We spend this episode finding ways to seal these up and clean the trailer up.

just found your channel, i have been watching the trailer build up videos, I wonder if adding a solar panel like a 200 w renergy to charge your system when you are in the out back? i think it could be mounted on top of the roof top tent, I did that with mine, My rtt has a rack on top that is how I mounted it.

Had my Scout for over 2 years now and love it. We go from vehicle overland and camping to RV to Scout so my power and water are portable. Power is Ecoflow Delta Pro the big one. Running a Dometic CFX3 DZ95 for food and Smittybilt 45 for beer. It will last for 2 days max. Charge by solar and when no sun we use the Ecoflow alternator charger at 800watts. Ecoflow generator is on standby in generator compartment for 1800 watt charge. Water is 4 military jerrycans at 5 gal each behind Toung box and Rinskit 4 gal for spray nozzle and showers. We heat water with a floating Electric Heater in jerry can and pour into the Rinsekit. Kitchen is on drivers side and wood platform on fender for prep space. Spare tire is same as yours. Awning is OVS 270. I have a Rhino Rack,(2) OVS and (1) Smittybilt all 270 awnings with sidewalls. Get the 2nd two not Rhino Rack, junk. all lights are yellow/orange magnetic solar lights I place all around the Scout. No running wires and dealing with all that mess which is why you have so many holes in yours from all the accessories it once had and removed. puddy the holes and spray paint them. Added a telescopic flag pole on toung jack to fly old glory with solar flag light on top. At night is a street light. Harbor freight box on passenger fender for junk. Last the other slide in the back with the fridge is 6 crates to hold all my dry goods. Good luck and have fun! Subbed.

Thank you so much for the sub and the comments. We took it out for its maiden voyage two weekends ago and I'm absolutely in love. Still have some kinks to work out but all in all I couldn't be happier with the purchase.

Hey there. Good videos. I like your personality for the videos too. :). Wondering if you can ask your guy that you bought it from what that tire rack is, where he got it, etc. I have a scout too (new one, so no holes yet). :). But I want to move my spare tire back there too. I am also going to put a water tank in the front behind my toolbox, but I need to move my tire first. Thanks again for your videos. :)

I’m pretty sure it’s a DirtWorx rack. They are located in Cedar City Utah and are pretty reasonably priced considering the product. You can see their stuff here: www.thedirtworx.com/product-page/smittybilt-scout-trailer-rear-bumper-tire-carrier
