Song - Dominion of the Sword - Truly Carmichael
This 17th century broadside ballad challenges the adage of "the pen is mightier than the sword. " Set to a traditional Breton pipe tune by Martin Carthy in 1988, the original lyrics are relatable, compelling and still relevant today. I found the piece fascinating and paired it with a hybrid modern/historical arrangement and wonderful video content from HEMA (historical European swordplay) organizations across the globe. Personally, I find it remarkable that we are still in a world that needs to learn that might should not make right.

Congratulations on a terrific 1st video! I love the costuming tips from someone I have long considered an expert (we're originally out of the Bay Area--transplanted now to VA)--my only requests are these: 1. More videos please! and 2. even at 100% there were moments when I struggled to hear what you were saying--would it be possible to record with a bit more volume? In any case, Truly--this was terrific! Thank you for posting it for us all.
