“𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐤𝐚𝐭,” composed by Ily Matthew Maniano, is inspired by the Gospel of Luke and showcases an outstanding fusion of Western classical traditions with rich Filipino heritage. This piece incorporates bamboo percussion sticks and drums, drawing rhythmic patterns from the Philippines’ southern regions.
This piece was performed by five out of fifteen choirs in the Mixed and Equal Voices Category and was won by the FEU Chorale at the Sing, Tarlac, Sing! 2nd Choral Festival & Competition last June 2, 2024.
