Yup, the recoil spring assembly came apart. Mine did too. Two of them, actually. The gun functions fine with an uncaptive spring, it's just a B!TCH getting it back together. DPM makes an aftermarket part that doesn't break. I may grab one. Another thing... If the washer isn't placed properly in the spring tunnel before assembly, the un-captive spring can bind. Maybe that's what was happening on the first mag? But as long as the spring bears against the washer when you put it together, it will function exactly the same even with the broken spring unit.

My 67a I purchased within days of getting out of the US Navy, December 1972. I bought it used in a pawn shop, for $19.00 ... pristine, looking like new. A 27" barrel was what I really liked about it, but it is so simple, I always said, that you could drop it from 5000', pick it up, put another stock on it, and it would still fire, and hit the mark every time. Built so you could throw it in your truck, let it bounce around, and still be dependable and accurate. I once shot a beer bottle with the iron sights, at about 100 yards. Okay, it took two attempts, but only two.

The manual says to use HIGH VELOCITY AMMO and NOT to use bulk ammo, not sure why people even want to use sub sonic or standard velocity or cheap bulk ammo 🤦🏽‍♂️

You aren't doing anyone any good by minimizing the danger of loading all six chambers in the old models. The danger is real. My best friend's brother dropped his old model Single Six, fully loaded, and took a .22 Mag bullet through his leg. Back then, no one knew the revolvers were not drop safe.You had to be a firearms history expert to know that. When Ruger starting getting claims for these kinds of injuries they started an advertising campaign accusing the injured owners of being idiots for loading six rounds. -

It'd be nice to know exactly which model this is I've seen ones with a rail on top and that's good for red dots but I'd like a light on it and the vast majority don't have rails under the barrel mark 4s do but buckmarks are hard to find
