This is a presentation by Louise Washer, the Norwalk River Watershed Association (NRWA) president and co-founder of the Pollinator Pathway. Louise will discuss the contemporary backyard and shed light on the detrimental effects of commonly used pesticides on human health and the environment. She will also highlight ways to help protect biodiversity, including alternatives to pesticides and how to support pesticide reform in our state.

After what felt like an eternity, we were delighted to bring (vaccinated!) high school student interns back into our laboratory in the fall of 2021. Offering both in-person and virtual options this semester, we were able to teach students both near and far about our local watersheds.
