when you mentioned the adjustable steering arm do you have to shorten it after you bag it ? to stop from getting bump steer?
To avoid bump steer get dropped arms from fat man
Fat man went out of business. Is there another way or maybe another company you may know of?
@@handmadehooligan fat man shut there doors a couple of weeks ago. looking for an alterative way
Hey hows it going... lil late in the game here, but great, great, GREAT vid, thanks a lot... I'm doing the same thing on my 54, just finished upping the a arms and fitting the upper brackets.. I'm about to do the clip reinforcements next. Just have a quick question.... since the A arms are already upped, do I still need the dropped knuckles/uprights? I was wondering if I kept the stock uprights and get one of those steering arms from fatman I'd get alignment (?) or do I need the whole thing (dropped uprights and steering arms) ? Thanks a lot man, great job you're doing 🤘
@@johndoe-if3vu you dont need the dropped uprights , but you do need the dropped steering bar if you wanna ride low. With out it there’s alot of bump steer
@@handmadehooligan Cool, thanks... by "dropped steering bar" you mean the 'special' steering arm that fatman and others sell? And how about using two driver side tie rod ends like you mention? would that fix the bump steering by itself, or will I still need the "steering bar"? sorry for the 1000 questions, just trying to get it on the road asap... thanks again
Getting there man
A little at a time :)
Looking good man
This is going to be so sick!
@@CountryBoyGasGarage thanks buddy , I think l so too
I'd weld in nuts, nutserts at least in my experience can and will spin and be a pita. Hopefully i dont spend the rest of my life at this hosp and i can come see the progress and lend a hand! Edit: then i get to the part where you weld in nuts 😂
I did end up welding nuts instead of nut serts
@handmadehooligan yeah i had to watch the rest of the video haha i comment as i go
Stoked man!!
Woot woot!!
Keep it up! Cant wait to see this further along. Best L
Thanks 🙏
I tried to support you, but there is nothing here to support. To bad Because you have great projects.Work harder on making videos. Good luck! I'm out
“Drops the mic … for no one to see “ What are you talking about ?
Hey! I will support! Cool cars, cool content. Just started my yt journey. So subscribed! Thanks all the way from Norway.
Thanks bro I needed this vid.
Your welcome
@@handmadehooligan Hey thanks for the reply. You may know the Answer to this but if my tank has more pressure than the passenger side bags the passenger side will rise over time. I'm assuming that the valve needs to be rebuilt or replaced have you ran into this problem before?
Why must everyone do the drop it's so lame and screams I just want to look cool but I'm not
Lame , go Project your insecurities on someone else. I don’t remember asking for you opinion
That's sick, might be getting a 51 fleetline today, future goals would be to bag it
Are you still doing work in your shop?? You could make some money selling a dropped upright / support and stepped lower arms. Maybe even offer a core trade out so you keep stock.
The shop is open (Atomic Rod and Custom) I mostly do fab work and I have a really good paint and body guy
that lite bar would look great as the center section for the rear bumper with exhaust exits where the lites are..
Good choice, looks like you’re too busy fighting diabetes to back your mouth.
Where and when
I’m not hard to find
Pull your damn britches up.
Come make me
definitely never going with 3/8 again. I'm old, going to 1/4 on my next build. tired of buying extra parts to slow it down.
Thank you for sharing your builds with us I have a 59 as well and would like to swap my frame out for a 79-85 Chevy C10 any advice on finding a conversion kit
If I don’t step my A arms will I have problems
I guess same ride height depending on how long that 4" tube is. Bags only have so much travel. avoid riding near max psi and near 0 psi (bump stops).
I like the fender treatment the Sentinels did on their gold 50 coupe that has now sold on. Rears are 57 Chev and fronts were lipped from a different car... So yea, different can absolutely be cool
I like this and will have to look again when I do mine. I have a mustang tank to put in first and some love marks in the fender to fix too.
Probably not relevent 3 years on, but I thought a small piano hinge on the bottom of the flap and a spring loaded finger pin to hold it in the top. Pull the pin and it opens down... just my thought on an already good design.
I really want to see how you do the front shocks
How can I get my air bags to go up that fast ?
lets see some updates, more videos!
I rather do mustang 2 front clip or 69 camaro subframe on it better on airride
So did this project get finished or?
Not yet , she’s been on the back burner for a while
I noticed in the other video that you was running wheel spacers in the front. What size are the wheel spacers?
3in spacers for mock up. I’ll be making custom upper and lower arms that way I don’t have to use spacers.
@@handmadehooligan thanks for replying.
I found your Chanel today and I really enjoyed it. I look forward to part 2.
Part 2 is in there somewhere, It might not be called part 2 lol But that truck is about done
Is there any way you could tell me the correct measurements from the front of front cab mount to front of the frame. I'm trying to build a 59 apache and someone put a nova front cap on it and they cut the frame all messed up.
Not really , mines on a s10 chassis. I would … Sit the cab on your frame with the bed on and put your new front clip on and line the wheels up in the fenders. Just work from the rear up
Great video, definitely gonna help when I bag my 50 Chevy. I'm probably not going to step my lower control arm tho, mainly because I don't want my car laying frame just in case I ever blow a bag and still need to drive her home lol
looks good
Please post more!!!! Love this build!
Thanks 🙏 she’s come a long way. Sorry I haven’t been shooting for RUclips I’ve been enjoying working with out a camera. But I’ll get back to it sooner or later

@handmadehooligan just mad because it's true. Just look at your work area alone tells me you hack shit up
Great job on the video, what airbags did you use? Do you have a part# for them . Thanks
Air ride specialties
On the dump valve, should the arrow go up or down towards the air line?
Ur arrow dictates witch way the air is moving.
Very nice
Looks great! Arco sent us
Would like to know what shocks you got for the front… also I messaged you on Instagram, and did you put shocks on the rear???
The music junked another video 👎👎👎👎💩💩💩😬
Top people, for helping Jason...👍.
Jason is awesome !!
Would really like to see how the shocks are mounted after the bags are in..
There are pics on my IG @handmadehooligan
That looks badass laid out
Pretty nice. I've heard that 54 Lincoln tail lights will work on the old Chevrolets of the period too.
Thanks 🙏. I’m not sure if they fit I’m more of the guy who picked the ones that don’t fit lol
So Sick! 🔥 Great Job! 👍
Thanks brother, it was fun having you out to the shop today !! Come back anytime
@jonathanwade8246 I had a great time! Thanks for the help Man!
Came out nice ☝🏽❤️🙏🏽
Hi. The top looks great! Please make longer videos and more of them and you will get more views. I really like your work. Keep it up!
Great video! I have a 54 hardtop. I am looking to do this in the future. I have an extra front end and the guy I got it from said the uprights are the lowered ones. Am I correct that if I build the extra front end out of the car, I can unbolt the OG and bolt in the modded one? Thanks
Yes you can build it out of the car , you should add some gussets above the bag to the frame from the crossmember after you install it
