Hello 💐 l! I am planning to fly to Canada next month using my eTA but with expired US Visa. I read an article that states; "More information from the U.S. Department of State. If your U.S. entry visa has expired and you are traveling to Canada for a visit of more than 30 days, you will need to get a new U.S. visa stamp while in Canada. To apply for a new U.S. visa stamp you will need to go to a U.S. Embassy or Consulate." Is this true? I am planning to maxjmize my stay in Canada which means my return would be before I hit the 6 months period. It is making me confused whether to book a ticket with less than 30 days duration or book my ticket with a return ticket before I hit 6 months. The immigration in the Philippines is very strict, I am currently unemployed and it really worries me to what dates on my airfare should I book, should it be returning before 30 days or returning before 6 months? My biggest worry is to how true that I should apply for renewal of US visa stamp if my stay in Canada will be more than 30 days since my US visa had expired. Please help 💐! Thank you!

Would there be a problem if I travel with the error on my US visa number? Should I re apply? All my passport details are correct except that. Thank you

Well, when you applied for an eTA, your US non immigrant visa was still valid for 3 more days that’s why you were still eligible for eTA. Once you got your eTA, it shouldn’t matter anymore if your US visa is still valid or not. It is obviously not used for entry to Canada. A valid US non immigrant tourist visa is just a gateway to a Canadian eTA.

Hello! ask ko lang po kasi mom ko held a Canada tourist visa before (na expired na during covid) inapply ko po siya ng ETA last year and approved na agad. Worried ako sa ganitong scenario kasi sa Vancouver Airport ang higpit nila. And hindi ako sure if okay lang ba to na expired ung Canadian Tourist visa nya then ETA na lang. Sinabihan ko na lang rin mom ko na dalhin ung old passport nya na may tatak ng dating tourist visa nya before just in case hanapin.

hello sir, ask ko lang po if tama ako intindi, okay lang po pumasok ng Canada kahit expired US visa as long as may eta na… and pag eta po ba, kahit anong airport po sa Canada ang port of entry? wala naman pong specific airport na dun lang dapat papasok if eta holder? thanks po!
