Found a couple small (20ish lbs) dogs looking for a way into the chickens today. I ran em off, but I thought I'd have to shoot em for a bit there.
Put up the Electronet, but the energizer isn't powering the fence. Have an Inteleshock Solar unit on the way.

No issues at all there. I bought 2 of a few different mags to test then settled on the C Products Dura Mags that have the best rep for reliability, especially running brass cased ammo. The best deal was at an outfit that doesn't ship to Maine (sales tax conflicts), but he ships most everywhere else. I even have 10 & 5 rd mags for bench shooting and hunting. I have another video where I did some (initial) Mag testing. It might be on my MAINEiac Outdoors channel where I migrated most of my shooting/outdoors content.

Hey Steve, thanks for stopping by. No drums in my plans, sorry. And you pointed out yet another noob omission. I was 50 yards away from some 8" AR 500 plates. I now have 5 plates on a pipe hanger set up from Yankee Thunder. The gun is far more accurate than I am, the red dot helps a lot with that. And just between you, me and the fence post, I cheated on my Chair Force annual qualifications. I kept track of my shot counts and shot all the most difficult targets prone. Nobody ever caught on. I figured if somebody was shootin at me, I sure as crap wasn't gonna be standin there tryin to steady down on em. :D

Hi Nate, thanks for stopping by and asking for some advise. Understand that I'm in no way an expert at anything. I shoot for fun. After a 29 year USAF career I'm used to the AR platform so When I saw that the major issues ARs had years ago with the 7.62x39 ammo, I made the switch from the AKM. Also realize I don't run through 1000s or even hundreds of rounds a month. With the current ammo prices and availability, I'm just not doing a lot of testing right now. I've run Tulla, Wolf Polyformance and Golden Tiger through it and with MY gun so far I've got the best groups with GT. Other than a couple light primer strikes (berdan primers are harder), I've been completely happy with my WW SRC. I'm in the process of switching to brass/boxer ammo now so I expect the light strikes will be a distant memory. I'll be using more steel as well as running some brass on woodchucks when I see em so keep an eye on my channel to see how that works out.

Thanks. There's a little movement, but its simple enough to jack up and add or delete shims to relevel. When the skirting and wrap around veranda (also skirted) are done it should be more stable.

@@maineiachomestead7550 I am glad you're thinking of this. Smaller is less to HVAC, but a lot of weight in a smaller space. Do think about a second bathroom for Irina. It's a truly American luxury she would love.

@@hollychapman4052 Yeah, 2nd Bath. Planning a composting outhouse soon. No AC. All windows will be protected from the summer sun, especially when the verandas are done. Heat is no issue. With just a small propane heater at its lowest setting, it was 52F inside & 20F and breezy outside. In floor radiant will be installed before next winter. We'll have to open windows in Jan & Feb.

@@maineiachomestead7550 be careful with propane,. And unlike our friend, buy some homeowners insurance. Yes, during construction as well. Good news on the 2nd bath !! Thumbs up.

@@hollychapman4052 ROFL The outhouse was a joke. She DOES want a solar outdoor shower tho. Ins is done and the propane was professionally installed tho I've done it several times myself. I know how to NOT make a rocket when I need to.
