Taping is to easy to mess with that California Patch. I’d prefill with Durabond and tape with FibaFuse with Durabond.

I always cut my patch and use it to draw my cut lines. So much faster that way.

One really cool thing about the "plumber's patch" is that the drywall thickness of the patch doesn't have to match the wall. The patch will always float to match the face, not the back. I've used it A LOT while renovating houses and it makes life so much easier.

Cut out the rot, replace it with waterproof go-board, tape...mud...paint...done. (for good).

They make knives specifically for that, do not use a utility knife. The drywall will destroy that blade, and it will immediately need to be replaced. You might not even finish your cutting before it needs to be replaced.

Using a drop cover on the floor looks a bit more professional and makes clean up a lot quicker.

I had a flood in my house from a burst pipe. Only about one inch of water. But the house has smelled like mildew ever since. I think the water wicked up into or behind the baseboards, so I’m going to remove them and any damaged drywall behind them. I think you’re going to have the same problem with those baseboards.

I did this but by time i had it set right, i didnt have any paint left and cant even read the gauge any more bc everything is covered in paint. Do not do this.

You should really have a vacuum with all three techniques. The downside to the fine tool is airborne dust the dust from the handsaw fall straight to the grout.😊

The multi tool....it wont just put dust on your floor, but EVERYWHERE!!

But why would you want texture in the first place.

Sure wish I would've seen this prior to using the product. That said, it's much better than the aerosol cans. Thanks for sharing this as it will help with the next project for sure.

come on now ... use a small pail and an old cake mixer beater in your drill to mix up mud = faster n easier then using a mud pan to mix in .

I would remove the baseboard and put the new drywall all the way down. I didn't see any backing for the drywall to rest on. It's only being held in place by the drywall paper. No wood backing and no screws. Nothing is supporting the drywall on the right against the shower enclosure and on the bottom at the baseboard.

The most idiotic idea I've ever seen, in order to do it this way u have to wet that paper before you put mud on it, otherwise it will bubble. Besides it takes longer and regular paper or mesh tape would do the job faster and better. You should use waterproof green drywall or hardie cement board there.

I’m a fan of your product and how it matches knockdown texture. I tried the can spray with poor results. Picked this up at Sherwin Williams and the result is great with the pressure around 30psi.

Excellent product. I just got through texturing a bathroom wall of about 6' x 5'. Previously the wall had wallpaper. I had to remove the wallpaper, repair some issues and prep for texture. I taped everything off, made sure my 3 gal hotdog tank air compressor was set for a consistent 60psi and practiced a little on a large piece of cardboard. I was going for a light orange peel. I used one bag and just a little of a second bag, probably because of my practice time. It turned out great!! I'd give EZ Pro an A++.

The hose you use also messes with your pressure at the gun. Use a heavy duty reinforced hose to maintain constant pressure. Coil hoses are the worst. They are not reinforced so the tubing expands when your not pulling the trigger and contract, dropping your pressure, when you pull the trigger.

I purchased the gun and a couple of pouches of compound today at Home Depot to patch around some windows and doors that I recently installed. Mind you, I have my own Marshalltown hopper, compressor, etc. but its not worth the hassle for small patches. I had tried a couple of cans of the Homex knockdown texture in a can on another area, but these failed miserably. The aerosol was gone before I could finish the patches. With the EZ-Pro, I set my PSI to 30 and was done before I knew it. I had time to clean up and run water thru the nozzle, then go back to blade the walls. It laid down great. Thanks for a great product!
