When it is 20 degrees below zero (Farhrenheit), I do not care about hiding my curves or making me look square. I care about surviving the walk from the building to my car.

Women will choose footwear that they like and they certainly have the freedom to do so. If you want to look elegant you'll never wear sneakers and jeans outside of the gym, tennis court or other venues dedicated to exercise or yardwork. Otherwise, one should choose to pair sneakers with elegant clothing only if one has foot problems that cause pain or balance instability. Pretending that sneakers, of any kind, are ever elegant is just silly.

Don’t agree with a lot Pearls were not mentioned. Always elevate more than layered necklaces. Shoes sunglasses and purses definitely. Scarves no. Brooches no.

Your showing beautiful clothing that is more fitted. Most women will not go to a tailor. All they show is everybody in very baggy clothing head to toe. Tells me nobody out there has been able to design women’s clothing since we lost the great designers

You should large shaped women to point out mistakes, but how about showing them in becoming outfits. I am five feet tall and pleasantly plump after delivering three very large babies. It would be nice to see someone more like me instead of perfectly coiffed women

I hope you are not insinuating that only slim white women over 50 know how to dress elegantly. You didn't include one photo of an elegant mature Black woman or an elegant mature plus-sized woman, but you used several photos of young Black women and a plus-sized woman with wardrobe mistakes. Hopefully you will be more conscious of your photo choices if you ever do an update on this.

As an African American Woman who has recently retired from the corporate world I find it interesting that all of your models are white. I believe A/A woman can dress classically. Your suggestion makes sense in some ways but are truly a Eurocentric view of classic.

What todays choices are lacking is quality. Wal.mart clothes fabrics and styles are filling the department stores with their prices jacked up for even greater profit, and 3rd world standards are being introduced as lifestyle for everyone. Lets get rid of that. Intelligence quality beauty and evolved humanity is as real as its opposite. And we demand that choice

I do try to look decent all of the time, but if I put 2 years of wardrobe money into an oufit, it would only be part of one, according to your standards. Think about more than the wealthy.

Excuse me !? Who you are that you dictate what we should do or not do wear in our age 50+. Everybody can wear what they like. I am 63 wearkng high shoe as well as fancy snikers and other shoes. The fact we are old does not mean we should look like granma....

In your section on winter coats I don't think you took climate into consideration. If I followed your suggestions I'd have hypothermia. Clothing has to be practical.

I've given up. Seems the secret to elegance is Beige and Birkin. Sorry to say, but most of these illustrations were depressingly frumpy.

Not practical for everyday living in an odd shaped body. Who wants to care for Cashmere? Also who has the budget for these high end fancy fabric clothes. Some good general advice but notice all the photos are of woman that have good figures in the ones showing the “right clothes” and not so good figures in the ones showing the wrong clothes.

I'm happy being 5'2" and have never tried to appear taller. Good things come in small packages. I'm fortunate that at 78 I haven't lost a millimeter but that's more because it's an indication of overall health and good nutrition. I never wear trousers of any length. Strictly a skirts/dresses girl.

Black may be chic, but all black does not suit my coloring, and I have dark hair and fair skin. I tend to keep black on my bottom half. Pairing color with neutrals like charcoal and navy work best for me.

I really enjoyed this video and got so much inspiration from the styles you showcased. I would love to dress like this and would absolutely love to be elegant. My problem is that I live in Canada where the climate is the boss of me. Clothes that protect me from the weather are not elegant unfortunately. (We have a saying here: "There is no bad weather, only bad clothing.") Slush, ice, snow, wind, sleet, hail, rain, means I wear, on any given day, a huge parka, Sorel boots with the necessarily cramp-ons (those are steel spikes we attach to our boots for icy walks), a tuque (that's a wool hat), big mittens or a waterproof and wind proof anorak with a Buff and rubber boots. When I do try to go out looking elegant, I usually come back home with mud or dirt on my outfit from having rubbed against the car, or having slipped on the ice into mud or dirty snow, or having been splashed by a passing vehicle. Sigh.Well, a woman can dream...
