I grew up about 20km from this spot at about this time (looks like the 70s/80s) and remember watching this kind of thing - probably this very aircraft (because there certainly wouldn't have been many).

Why does the boom momentarily cut off spraying from the outer nozzles? How is the spray cut of to the nozzles on the outside? Great vid! Thanks for uploading it!

there was an accident at a farm strip a few years back near where i live. It involved two biplanes landing in a crosswind, from opposite ends of the same runway. they met in the middle of the airfield. i understand sever damage was caused to both aircraft, but luckily no one was hurt.

I thought Avstralian pilots don't break planes I don't like make movies about crash I had plane icdent after take off in this summer that's terrible

That only a pup to whats out there..if your prepared to dive to about 35 mtrs....and have a sounder.....there is bottom out there....and back in the early 80's a cray boat from Burnie ..set its gear on a reef off Hawley....and filled up on monsters..it was on the front page of the Advocate....way back......that bag wouldn't be big enough for the smallest.....and an ab diver pulled two up not far from there...1 was 25 Ib...and another went 19...I have caught similar back in the good ol days

With the amount of aussie pilots out of the job I doubt they're giving work visas to foreign pilots unfortunately.

Just to be accurate, there are no Agcats in this video, Turbine Thrushs,Airtractors & a Cessna. The assembly is a JARBA Boom spray (Jones Air Rotating Boom Assemby - JARBA) made by JonesAir at St. George in SE Qld, Australia.

what is the advantage of the rotating boom? Does it just move the nozzles to a different position to change droplet size (or rate)?

I'm from Nebraska we spray mostly corn, sugarbeets and dry beans. we have 2 600 ag cats and two super B raised wing garrett dash1 turbine cats. I have a few vids of the turbine cat up now.

are you using a sat-loc lite system in there?

we use Cp nozzles on our Ag cats

AgCats are wonderful spray planes. I fly a Turbine Cat here in the U.S. What kind of cat is this in the video? Looks like a Frank Kelly special without a raised wing.

interesting concept. I fly a turbine Agcat in the U.s. I use flat fans.
