The radar gun isn't 100% accurate.

401 ran up until early June 2018, when it was renumbered to 461. Also prior to early June 2018, 147 and 157 went straight from Springfield to Hartford, skipping Windsor Locks and Windsor.

I think it’s because they didn’t feel the need for the Vermonters to stop at Berlin and Wallingford after the opening of CTrail’s Hartford Line, which added more service to those stations, and the entire Springfield Line in general. I think the Vermonters not being part of the shared ticket system between CTrail and the other Amtrak trains that traverse the Springfield Line also played a role into cutting the stops at Berlin and Wallingford.

It doesn’t run to Thomaston, but the cars do get interchanged with the Naugatuck Railroad in Waterbury and are brought to a facility near Thomaston.
