What is a poky tool, and why would I use one?

I've been Crafting since 2001 & I've NEVER made or Received A Pokey Tool!!! Do you have any Extra Ones? (I'm in The US though)

Thanks for the tutorial Pam. Here in the US, it can be difficult to find broken jewelry at a reasonable price. I purchased a bag of beads from old jewelry at a thrift store. When I got home discovered that half of the bag was the long seed beads. I have no idea what I'm going to do with them.
