This is the main reason why I don't believe in oshis - cause IMO there's a high chance it'll create unecessary connection that could lead to lots of bad stuff and affect you in the long run (eg. graduation). At the end of the day, admiration towards vtubers should remain admiration and every fan should do their best to draw a line and make sure not to cross them. It's really tempting, but gotta keep in mind that most, if not all actors, acts as a second nature and can make sht seems genuine. It's a sad reality folks, always drink your meds. Great talk :)
Omg this is gonna be so freaking helpful! I went through so much trouble rigging my mouth only for half my rigging to not work XD Thanks for also doing webcam

Okay I really have to say, as someone who does her own model art and tries to make things perfect because I don’t want to cause trouble for whoever rigs for me, I love this video. It really helps me put less stress on myself 🥹
Really enjoying your videos, thanks for making them.
Kozii, it's been a hot minute since you posted something. Did you go on vacation? Hope you're doing well.
if you complain about someone playing games as jobless, that is immaturity.
TLDR: As always, good subject, good video with arguments people need to hear, even if it can hurt them. Be friends with someone for who they are, not for the persona on stream or other media. Not much else to say because I agree with mostly everything you said. I never tried to be friends with a Vtuber because they're a Vtuber or streamer. I do understand the person we see is often a persona or just not their full personality. Like you said, the key is communication; without it, I've learned only frustration will rise. I've wasted a few good friendships because we were not aligned; as much as I regret it, those are valuable lessons. Now, to be more in depth on the subject, as a viewer, if I want to befriend a streamer, I need to ask myself who I want to be friends with. Is it because I think I like the person behind the screen or because I want to be friends with the persona on video? I think there is a difference between who people think the streamer is and who is really the streamer. First, be careful of the streamer who "sells" their friendship to make their business, and those where a genuine connection can be made. Then put on the side the fan side of the viewer to make a connection with the person, not the personality. And perhaps it can work, as long as the golden rules of communication are open and clear and expectations are in check. I have my own standards; for example, I don't expect an answer from someone I know is busy within the hour; it's usually between 1 or 2 weeks. If I don't receive an answer, I try a few more times to establish communication; if nothing happens, I just move on and lose interest in the person. As a friend, I fully understand that you should not be a top priority, but I do expect some sort of respect and to be given an answer at some point. Of course, if there is proper communication on an issue or circumstances, this changes the situation. (Since I don't use social media, I don't know what "subtwit" means.) I think this video is very important, mostly for people who do not have any contact with people outside of the internet. Genuine connections are rarely made because someone asked you to be a friend. It's meeting people and interacting with them that make the friendship grow over time. Going too fast on making friendships will usually finish in a disaster.
TLDR: Good video, interesting subject; I just want to add my opinion to it. Drama is part of our lives; we need to not be interested in all of them and look somewhere else sometime. Social media are bad for this. Handpick the drama you want to be invested in and do your best to ignore the rest, but I understand for content creators it's harder to do so. Taking a break is healthy, and being "selfish" is important to do it sometime. Drama is always part of life, but nowadays, with the internet, we are exposed to it every day. Before that, it was usually small stuff at work, drama in the family, and the big one hitting the news on TV. Today with the social media, it's like a giant office 24/7 where pointless drama never ends with the sheer amount of people. Except RUclips, I do my best to avoid any social media. I do know what's going on with the news channel, but I'm never overexposed. For content creators who are in need of those accounts to build an audience, it's harder to avoid, plus, like you said, viewers want the opinion of all creators on all drama subjects. It's impossible to care for everyone and everything; it's not in human nature to do that; it's unhealthy. It's ok to care when there is drama that touches you directly, concerns a friend, or even a content creator we like and follow, but the more we care, the more numb we grow. In the end, it became the doomscrolling phenomenon, if I recall. Yet drama sells; look at all the TV series with drama in them to get people hooked on them. I think it's in our nature to be drawn by it, but too much of it can damage us. No wonder people can live by reporting or even making drama on the internet. I understand those who report all drama; I think it's up to the viewers to handpick the drama they deem important and want more info on. But it's hard to control this emotion and just want info and opinion on everything. In those situations, it's important to take a break, like you said, look outside, take a walk, or do something else. Sadly, I think the FOMO started as well and to not be in touch with what's going on. But once you succeed in passing that phase, I think it's possible to find balance and inner peace.
"If you don't care about this thing then you're a bad person" Couldn't have said it better myself. I've only recently begun to accept that I'm always going to be a bad person to some. Too many of us tend to focus too much on what we can't control, and nowhere near enough on what we can control, and that doesn't even include the "holier-than-thou" hypocrites. Nobody can pour from an empty cup, that's just reality.
This video saved me!! It was so helpful and I didn't know any of these shops/artists! Thank you so so much!
I think we all grew up thinking adults knew what they were doing and answers to questions or at least know how to get the answers. Nope, everyone, even parents now that are in their 50's, 60's etc , no one has a damn clue what we're doing and we have to just fumble through life reacting to one giant WTF after another LOL. When in reality maturity is just taking the brunt of the life sheet storm and shield the youngens from it the best we can.
I agree and my doctor said pretty much the same thing yesterday when i finally came out to him
This is awesome!! Please do one about Vtuber outfit assets!! I have no idea how to set them up correctly [TTOTT]
Personally: There is a meter bar [immature]-[normal]-[mature], for most people they will live in the [normal] section since they don't break the walls of their box [_]. For people who do things outside of the normal, example: watching anime, AI, gaming, even stepping out of the norm, will be seen as [immature]. For those who seem [mature] they usually are seen as those who can get stuff done & excel at the [normal] category so much they rise above the [normal standard]. Anyways the point is: If you don't stand out in a (Odd) Unique way, you usually get overlooked. "The nail that stands out, get's hammered down."
To society maturity just means you agree with society and not thinking for yourself as society never evolved past the monkey stage and actively sabotages anyone who tries to help society as it is like crabs in a bucket they will drag the others back down to the lowest point
I just wanna say im really liking this channel. I enjoy the topics and this opens a lot of discussions on the topics. Im someone who has been called mature but lately i have been feeling immature. Im turing 18 next month is the idea of becoming an adult scares me so much.
Just wanna add to after the video. When you talked about how adults called you mature becuase you just didn't get introuble bur you felt like you where scared and mabye even undiagnosed hit a cord for me. I was undiagnosed for 15 years and that just made me realise more about myself. I did get diagnosed sooner then a lot of women but still later in life.
7:16 The reason why people call you immature is not because of being a woman or having some kind of misogyny. There are guys who get the same treatment as well. I've gotten that almost all the time. Now, there are different ways of being mature and immature. It's just one of those things that have nuance, but what you said is definitely not one of them.
That's not what I meant, but like I said, it's a much more in depth different conversation than I really want to get into. If a woman feels like explaining it herself, one can.
@@koziitwo 🖖
America trying to explain maturity/intelligence is like going to the Italian mafia to be explained morality. 😁
I don't really see the point in being rude about nationality during an interesting philosophical conversation.
Mature was never the word used, but I've noticed how much people hate hearing someone disagree with them, or at least hate hearing me disagree with them. Shutting up is preferable My parents taught me that all my life and my managers I've worked for reinforced it. Do not disagree with authority
Basically maturity is not letting the weight of the world crush you while pretending you know what you're doing
As a child I thought being an adult would suck.
maturity is a scam, the goal is to squeeze as much value out of you as possible, and you should only take on as much responsibility as you want
Nobody ever really feels as mature as they should be. That's because your models for maturity are always people who are older than you. Problem is: while you're getting older, so are they.
Maturity is understanding others have needs and that you aren’t the center of the universe and you don’t know everything and that you understand that people might have more going on then you may believe. Understanding that people may have struggles you don’t expect. That’s all maturity is the rest is just a sham to get children to behave and understand these core parts of maturity you’ll be more mature when your older etc when in reality you stay the same but get far more experience and understandings and you learn to not take things so personally because often times it has nothing to do with you how others treat you. But hey I’m young and may have more to learn
I am the center of the universe tho
An insight from this: Interpersonal dynamics are dynamic. It seems odd on its face, but attributing/blaming self completely or attributing cause to other ppl completely easily happens especially if feeling hurt, yet it denies the dynamics. Your reflection considered both self and the other in a good balance! You noting care if a conversation intended to be productive gets too tense or hostile was a great point. Just as we can see more clearly understanding the dynamics of relation, if the other is blinded by “all my fault” or “all your fault” type thinking, reasoning may more likely fail. Thank you for the vid.
It's a lesson that honestly took me an embarrassingly long time to learn, but that I think is an important one. Communication is two way, and I know I can be abrasive or against the status quo, so of course sometimes the issue lies with me!
Na how you acted as a kid is the same as me
In my experience, I found most people around me have sorta weaponized the terms "mature" and "immature" to mask their gaslighting or favoritism. As for what I consider someone is mature, its the self awareness of one's strengths and limitations and the mindfulness of others without compromising their own integrity. It varies from person to person but for the most part, thats what I noticed. That said, we are all human and no one is perfect. All we can do is our best even if sometimes it ends up being our worst.
As an autistic man i feel so understood, holy shit, thank you i feel so heard.
When you ask multiple people, maturity or immaturity has different definitions, and I don't think there is a wrong answer. The only "wrong" thing to do is force your definition of maturity/immaturity onto others. I think respecting others' thoughts can be considered a sign of maturity, and it is Ok to not even agree with others' thoughts all the time.
I agree with all of this!!
I used to think that it means to understand why things should be done or not, instead of just following rules. For example with alcohol, or crossing the road. I too used to be a lonely, scared and quiet child spending most of my time reading and being in my head, and people called me 'mature' for not breaking the rules or causing issues, I guess. I think the main reason was that I was too self-conscious? Nowadays I would put more emphasis on empathy, being able to learn from your mistakes and the ability to change your opinion when presented with new information. Maybe it's staying open-minded as you grow older? But as you said 'maturity' is often weaponized by people to force you to conform and to shut you up. Which then brings us to being critical (that I think is an important aspect of it) even of this 'maturity' itself. And I think you need to be a little immature and ask the childish question "why?" to challenge them, to be mature. Maybe it is to realize that there is value in being immature and to embrace your own immaturity?
Personally, I have to wonder if asking why is being immature at all. 🤔 I get the sentiment of it, but.. inventors ask why. Journalists, historians, engineers.. I actually tend to think that, asking why as an adult IS a sign of maturity. Because you're being more humble, letting go of the notion that you're _supposed_ to know something, and admitting to ignorance, all in an effort to learn more. Learning is hard for people as an adult. You always feel like you need to know everything yourself, like you shouldn't ask for help because, yeah, it's seen as childish. But honestly, if you don't know, another human might be able to teach you better than you could learn struggling on your own.
im considered immature by those who disagree with me and extrEMELY mature to those who agree with me. I feel it for sure.
Oh yeah 100% My detractors think I'm the most childish immature brat that can't shut up, but people who enjoy my perspectives think I'm the most thoughtful and mature person they've ever met. It's really interesting. 😂
The way you talked about your childhood made me feel so seen and less alone with my feelings. ❤
i think maturity is defined by ones own self awareness, intelligence, but also the ability to know who you are as a person. I personally have always been called "mature for my age" due to my own life experiences making me seem much more "wise" and "self aware" than most people my age, especially since even when i was up to 3-4 years old i was always quite articulate. i think i gained i guess what most would call "self awareness" or "conciousness" much earlier than most did for whatever reason.
That's a sub, these are the type of vtubers i need on my feed!

dang america is rly downhill, here discussions have always been well received, sometimes messing around, sometimes trying to understand the truth behind it all, sometimes just trying to see why we differ and where beyond what's right/truth maybe just the friends i attract, but never have i overheard a case like those, about just speaking up and being called immature
Oh yeah, I think this is definitely a very American experience tbh. 😂 In most other countries I see a lot more reasonable discussion and conversation about harder topics, but here everything is so polarized that people just *assume* it'll be dramatic the second you start to try to bring it up. I hope this changes eventually, though it always gets worse around election times, haha..
Love your content.
Aaa thank you so much! 🙏
I've been thinking a lot over the past month or so about finally starting to do some sort of online content creation (an idea I've actually been bouncing around and procrastinating on for like 10 years but whatever), and I've been looking into the idea of doing it as a vtuber. And honestly if I do, my take is basically that I'm just gonna be doing my own thing. I don't care what other people in the space say or think vtubers are supposed to be and what they should or shouldn't do. I don't care what any individuals or groups say the rules or requirements of being a vtuber are. I don't care what the culture is and whether I fit with it or not or where the community is shifting and if I'm following or not. I mean look at it this way, I have no delusions about "making it" by any means. Sure, it'd be cool to pay my bills off of it, but it's probably just going to be a hobby for me. And hobbies are supposed to be fun. So I'm gonna try to do what I find fun, first and foremost. I just wanna make neat stuff that hopefully a few cool people will find and get some enjoyment out of. And if I ever get hit with a "you're not a real vtuber" or some similar nonsense I'm just gonna be like "oh no!...anyway, new video tomorrow" BTW just found this channel today and think I'm getting sucked into binging all your videos. The topics look really interesting and if you couldn't tell vtubing is something that's been on my mind a lot lately.
@@KrispyToast-YT Yeah! That's basically the perfect way to think of things these days. Just do what you want, don't let anyone's opinions influence you, and become the type of content creator you think is the most interesting. 👌 Also thank you so much! 🥺🙏
"a juvenile becomes an adult when, and only when, he acquires a knowledge of duty and embraces it as dearer than the self-love he was born with." -Robert A. Heinlein, _Starship Troopers_
maturity is just learning how to get what you want while angering people as little as possible.
@@bluelense7 that's an interesting take 🤔 Not sure I fully agree with it, but I don't fully disagree either.. I dunno, maybe I'll sit on it for a while
No, that is called learning to be a functional sociopath rather than the bad kind
Good video, very insightful. Maturity is very related with adults, so if a kid acts like an adult, people might see them as "mature". However, not every adult is mature and every kid is immature. It really comes down to things like discipline, responsibility, judgement, and behaviours depending on the circumstance. Things like hobbies, ways of speaking, activities don't really tell about how mature someone can be. If it were like that, then every mature adult would be drinking sofisticated wine at a restaurant, talking about taxes and politics without telling a single joke. Anyway, anime and video games are cool, some people just don't know how to separate maturity and fun.
Maturity is taking all the wild, unhinged, damn near life altering things you want to do/say and go “Nah, that’s not what’s expected of me.” *But by the grace of God if I could get a 24 hour tomfoolery pass…*
LMAO okay true 😂
While I agree with the general concept you're working with, especially from personal experience, I want to offer a slight counter argument. I believe that what people are actually doing is confusing maturity and wisdom for professionalism and reservedness. As an autistic man myself, I used to be called very wise and mature for the way my autism manifested itself. Normally quiet, but able to make rather specific observations on the world around me. Point out small things people don't think about. But as I get used to someone I'll grow more loud and impish around them. In my teens this was viewed as highly attractive, but now that I'm pushing 30 saying "Oh, this reminds me" or "Hey, did you know" will often elicit worry from those around me. Almost like me priming the room for a tirade is the verbal equivalent of loading a gun. Now granted, I think thats funny as fuck. I don't really care about what it means to be mature. The only thing I'm worried about is coming off as obnoxious or twitter-y with how I embrace my autism. However, I can see how disheartening that could be to someone in a similar position. To spend half your life with one behavior consistently reinforced, only to have it one day become widely frowned upon with no prior warning. Suddenly changing the rules of engagement on someone is hard enough, but you're also reverting it to how they were as a kid. "You can't be loud, you can't be passionate, and you can't be happy, but you better not be upset either." I think thats the one part of our society where we're damaged by cultural mixing. The Christian American "Honor God with everything you do" mindset and the Japanese's insane work culture has created this god awful negative feedback loop where both sides want you to sit down, shut up, and just embody whatever your job is. But don't forget to have friends and stay in shape! Honestly, I think people are just overcomplicating it. The original definition of "maturing" is simply "growing into its true form." So if you feel stable, self assured, and capable of pulling fron your lived experience to inform how to navigate hardship, does that not make one "mature" by its most literal definition? Cause if so, I think everything else is just junk people added on in order to justify this, that, or the other thing.
