After watching the season finale......Oh Max 😢😢😫😫😫😫😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I think a lot of people misinterpreted the meaning of Running Up That Hill being Max’s favorite song to signify that she wants to swap places with Billy; but I don’t think that’s entirely true…. if even mostly true. According to Kate Bush the song is about how a man and a woman need to swap places to truly understand one another. She’s not projecting that onto Billy, she’s projecting that onto LUCAS. All of those flashbacks she had in Vecna’s realm, NONE of them were about Billy. They were primarily about Lucas. She wants to swap places with *him* so he can understand her and she him. That’s what their conjoined arc has been about for the past 2 seasons. They love each other but they’re disconnected, and Lucas has been begging her to let him in so he can help her and understand what she’s going through and how to make them work; but Max can’t/doesn’t understand how to let him in. It would be easier if they could swap places. She’d do it in an instant.
