Bermuda grass is a weed, st Augustin for my lawn.
Not always true and that doesn't happen to everyone. I have hybrid bermuda in San Antonio and cut it at 2.5 inchs and its nice and green before and after cutting. IJS 🤷♀️
Or plant something more useful in your yard. Like vegetables..
I have veggies,but also some grass so i can use the yard. Produce is few this year tho😢

a little tip as a landscaper, trim the edges before! you pull the mulch in :) great video

New NC hybrid Bermuda lawn here, going into my first fall/winter. What pre-emergent do you recommend? Standard big box store brands or something different?
@@michael_winslow I recommend starting with The Andersons Home and Garden’s Barricade. Lasts a long time, pretty effective, and you can usually find them at some big box stores including Amazon

Yes, but kind of missing the point though. Bermuda greens up after you mow it too. But a height of cut reset will keep it green on the first mow. This is also warm season grass - different rules 🤷🏽♂️

So if you did make this mistake how can you fix it
It’s very tough, once it’s established it’s likely not going anywhere. But your friend can try to plug the common Bermuda area with hybrid, and mow really low. Perhaps the hybrid will gain an advantage. Other option is to just live with both of them

We had a huge garden on our farm. My grandma pulled weeds by hand all summer. Her hands were so swollen from making bread and her back had a permanent bend from the work. No one works like the Great Depression Generation. Their entire basement was wall to wall filled with home canned food.
