Thanks for the info, but the near-constant upward inflection at the end of your phrases got a little grating after a while.

Daddy O's is in my neighbourhood! You can tell they are amazing because there is always a long lineup and they sell out. I am also a huge fan of Unholy Donuts, which just opened up on Brown's Line and has lemon curd filled varieties that are mind blowing. You can also get Harry and Heels (which sells donuts in a pizzeria downtown) at Farm Boy (for the 5 minutes before they sell out) which are great. If you're ever in Grimsby, there is a Dutch bakery right on King Street that makes donuts from scratch; on a Saturday morning, people line up to get donuts as they bring them up from the back. The cinnamon bun donut has a maple glaze that is killer.

Oh no. Never use baking soda on your woosem cutting boards. Sodium bicarbonate will interact with the oil, staining and dehydrating the wood.

Just use baking soda. Lemon does absolutely f*ck all since it is an acid and just evens out the basic element of the soda. Also makes those horrible clumps.

Never mineral oil!!!!

Any towel I use to apply oil, they leave lots of towel lints behind!

How about coconut oil? Is that safe to use?

Just a quick easy tip: heating the mineral oil first (in the microwave or whatever) helps it absorb better into the board. Heat it until it's watery. As well, it's not a problem adding extra mineral oil. The board is only going to absorb what it is capable of. After a few hours, or even better overnight, whatever is still on the board can simply be wiped away and then buffed off. It might use a little extra mineral oil (mineral oil is pretty dirt cheap), but ensures the board is absorbing as much as it possibly can. Target sells USP certified pharmaceutical grade mineral oil for a very low price.

I really shouldn't be watching videos like this because I gain weight afterwards! I was in Toronto in 2019, and I enjoyed very good and inexpensive food.

Like all big cities, caution that restaurants close, or owners' retirement, happen. Rio40, and Schnitzel Queen are gone. Here are some awesome places: Mona's, Badiali's, House of Gourmet, Pho 128, Mother Dumplings, Perfect Chinese Restaurant, Dairy Freeze, Duckworth's Fish 'N Chips, Rodeo Brazilian Steakhouse, Zet's, Master Steaks.

Clear and concise video. This is about the same technique I use except for the lemon and baking soda, which I will try the next time I oil my cutting boards. I like to use a brush to apply the oil in a thick coating before wiping it down and returning it to service 24 hours later.
