Hello Sara, I did everything as you instructed, but somehow my Sb-5000 does not appear ( NAME : SB-5000) (MODE : PIN) is also missing on the screen and you have [GR] : {AB C DEF} [CH] : {5 10 15} on my screen I have [GR] : {A B C} only and [CH] : {1234} only. I tried several times to pair them but did not have any success. are there any tips, on how to take care of this issue? Thank you!
Hello, Sara! Why did you only produce one video? Is there another channel that has replaced this one? Thank you, I hope you do more of these tutorials.
Buenas noches puedo usar este dispositivo con mi Nikon D 3500 y mi flash SB 5000 Muchas gracias. Good evening can I use this device with my Nikon D 3500 and my SB 5000 flash Thank you very much.
Hi Sara, I've looked everywhere online and I cannot figure why there is two ways to link. Pair or Pin. Why is there two ways to go. Is one better than the other?
This is really a bullshit system, why do we have to go through the extra steps. You wonder why your sales are going down, I’ve been a loyal Nikon buyer for years but now I’m wondering if it’s time to switch!!!!!!
Hi Sara Wood I have question ,on my d850 if my speedlight sb5000 is not attach to the camera the flash control option is not available ,maybe You know why ?.I have very hard time to setup this system d850+wr-r10+sb 5000, (still with out success connection). This is ridicules how Nikon made so difficult for customer after they spend so much money on their products
Why did Nikon make their radio system so wacky to use??? Some say to use PIN some say to use Pair, crazy. Also, I'd take the camera strap off if you want to use this method. I had my camera strap wrap around the triggering do-dad twice and tear it to pieces (I should of learned my lesson the first time). I really wanted this to work since the hotshoe is free, but if you put a trigger for a different system (Elinchrom in my case) the camera flash system turns itself off, WTH. Really hope Nikon reevaluates and comes up with a better system.
my flash control menu. in the photo shooting menu is not highlighted as also the wireless remote options button is also not highlighted its says this option is not available in the cameras current setting or state any ideas , its a d850
Hi Sara! Thank you so much for your tutorial! You know that I Digitutor also had a tutorial and they got it all wrong! I spent two-three hours trying to do it they way they were explaining it how to do it and I couldn't make my flash work, and with your 3 minute tutorial, it worked at once? I am so thankful! (lots of emoji hearts inserted here!) Do you know how if I can change it from TTL to manual mode if I am in remote wireless mode? or do I just have to change the physical distance from the flash from the model? THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!!!!!!!!
Yes I Just figured it out! I think !ha Go to menu on your camera body, *PHOTO SHOOTING MENU, Flash Control, Group Flash Options, Then if you select Group B & Put it to M (Manual) Change the comp to what ever. Go to your SB - 5000 flash & Change the Group to B. There you have the manual set up.@@cbyu12
A good video...thanks Sara ...but there is one additional thing I found you need to do to get the flash to trigger remotely. The SB 5000 LCD needs to show that it is in AWL PIN or Pairing mode for radio wireless-this is shown in the video but how to get to this point is not...What to do?-read on-...The black button to the left of the translucent power button (on the extreme right) controls scrolling through the various Remote options <radio, optical etc.> when the flash selector is set to remote...When the flash selector is set to `Remote’ using that black button <it has a lightning symbol on it> scroll to the radio wireless option and you will see your choice of how to pair on the LCD <either Pair or Pin>...This is all alluded to in the Nikon wireless tech manual which can be downloaded from the Nikon website. Works like a charm!
It's complicated because there is a huge amount of functionality. Advanced functionality starts off on the top of the range models and gradually works down to the cheaper models.
What a scam! No way to sell scam then with a pretty face. On the D 750 all you do is turn on the remote feature in the menu and that's it. Now to use a remote flash on the D 850 you need to buy 12 of these other products....What a load of BS!
Why Nikon did that?! 17 years being a Nikon user and now, waiting for so long a touch screen FX camera and came with no flash built in and all this complicated process to trigger a flash outside the camera. So disappointed!!! 😒
the complication comes as they(Nikon) teach the PIN mode, Go to Gray's of Westminster site link: ruclips.net/video/vHzfedEilSk/видео.html , they show the simpler PAIR mode, aka one hit of some buttons, and like a door remote, they are 'married' together, no password shit like on a computer, it is connected automatically, no passwords to remember :-) .
I don’t understand why Nikon would make a new flash with wireless technology for only 3 of their cameras? So someone with an 810 can’t use this technology? Can anyone use “commander” mode with this flash?
Hi there is any other flashes that can be use with the AWL kit? Is there any other gear can use for off flash camera with the D850 with regard using radio controller n receivers. Many thanks.
Great demo, my question is how will deal with the off camera flash if you own the D850, Yungnuo radio controller n transceivers and kenro speed light. Can you please help on how to set up many thanks.
Why can’t one of these sb5000’s flashes be used as a master and control other groups via wireless radio frequencies using any dslr ? Come on nikon, $100 goddox can do it!!!

GOOD MORNING, HOW CAN I PAIR MY NIKON Z7 WITH THE SB-5000? WILL IT BE POSSIBLE WITH THIS SAME SYSTEM? THANKS AND REGARDS .
Is this setting also available for nikin z7? Thanks
Hi Sara, I've looked everywhere online and I cannot figure why there is two ways to link. Pair or Pin. Why is there two ways to go. Is one better than the other?
PIN is for where you are working alongside other Nikon users using the same channel.
Can you tell my the difference between the US 800 and the WR 11a from Nikon please
I've very recently purchased a D850. I'm now feeling like this was a bad purchase.
It's a fabulous camera.
@@l353a1 Yes it is ☺️ I’m over the pain I felt with this video. Got the wireless kit and 2 SB-5000’s. Love the setup!

I am having the same problem.
Does't the SU800 work with the SB5000?
SU800 is optical, I think. Can't put flashes inside modifiers.
thank u
Thanks !

Thank you Sara!!! great video
Just ordered an SB-5000 for use with my Z7. Will this work using the same method?
Ohhhhhhh my gosh. NIKON.. so freakin' complicated!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Nikon, always about 10 years behind.

Hey, Did you end up finding out how to put the mode onto Manual for off camera flash? Thanks
Daniel Chafer hi Daniel! I did not figure that out! Could you tell me how?

I used the Digitutor video last week and I had no problems, except they were demonstrating with a D500 and I have a D850. All went well.
Great video, thank you

Norm, thank you...this is a MAJOR OMISSION and unacceptable from Nikon. I was getting very frustrated about this so thanks so much for posting!
The cost and making this system incompatible with other camera models aside, that setup seems to be unnecessarily complicated.
It's complicated because there is a huge amount of functionality. Advanced functionality starts off on the top of the range models and gradually works down to the cheaper models.

I like to know Nikon WR-R10 is compatible with SB910 Flash?
I"m wondering why us PIN as opposed to PAIRING. Is there a reason?
Thank you Sara .I'm like your video + teaching some new ...

Great upload many thanks. Quick Q; what if you want to change the PIN? How do you reset the remote to factory defaults??
