Nice work man.
Yep that's nice workmanship looks great.
Master craftsman 👍
A combinação de cinzas deixa mais bonito. Great work!
As its a 9" wall, why construct it as two skins of boring stretcher bond? This was an excellent opportunity to build it in English bond/Flemish bond/English Garden Wall bond at effectively no extra materials, all without wall ties and it would have been more durable as well.
There’s always one 🙈
Because it's near impossible to get both sides looking good, due to the variance in brick sizes? Nothing wrong with stretcher bond visually, and with ties it'll be plenty strong enough
@@regiondeltas I have seen plenty of 9" walls with fully bonded brickwork that looks right, much of it is down to the skill of the brickie, although I must say that that skill is diminishing in the industry as the years go by There is a good reason why we have a 9" wall in English Garden Wall bond i.e 3 courses of stretchers and one course of headers. Two courses of stretcher bond with ties is structurally inferior to a fully bonded 9" wall - ask any structural engineer. The two skins only act in a cursory manner and not a homogeneous unit.
Agree but not what the customer wanted 👍🏽

if you eve feel like a holiday in South Africa, let me know. You could just come and help me build a rondavel 🤣
Blimey bailing some of that water out wouldn't have gone a miss LOL. It's going to look a grand entrance once it's done though 🙂
Was surrounded by fields.. as quick as you bail it out, it just comes back lol. The crap weather we’ve had really been a pain on this job.
I can't believe you built that wall under water. All you had to do was make a little rut and let it run off

Laser level. 🤠🤠
Oh Dear.
What are those bricks called ?
Ashington Multi Greys 👍🏽
Lovely Bricks, Tasty work
Thank you! Cheers!
“ put the camera where?” 😅 . Great teaching video.
Nice job and brick…. But how come you didn’t leave the young lad building other side would have been great for his confidence while you did other side or is he just your labourer ? Whichever way it’s a 👍
It’s my Son he’s still learning so he labours and lays bricks. I just had him running in while I was building corner pier. He’s a hard working lad he’s getting there 👍🏽
What pattern is your trowel mate?
Wide London by the looks of it.
London pattern 👍🏽
Cracking job!! What size footing would typically be needed for this size/kind of wall??
We went down about a meter and about 500mm wide👍🏽
Nice job
Thank you! Cheers!
I always did like the Brits. They tell it like it is. I need to go back.
Yeh we don’t beat around the bush lol
All good stuff 👍...there needs to be mutual trust with the customer as some just dont appreciate the work required , i turn down most jobs like this now but im a cynical man .
Wrong bond mate😂
How?
Great work, great brick colour, what are they?
Ashinton multi greys I think
Thank you 👍🏽
Going to look the business when it’s done
That looks awesome bud 👌
Thank you much appreciated 👍🏽
Is there any reason why you’ve used boe in the footing instead of block on flat?
Yes basically didn’t have no blocks lol. But yes I could have used blocks. It was only the right hand side of the wall I laid BOE, because there was a 40mm difference in the footing from one side to the other 👍🏽
Obvious answer to a silly question ffs 🤷♂️
Awesome stuff👍
Thank you
Those bricks are lovely. Are they a terka?
Yeh lovely Brick. I think there called Ashingdon multi greys.
Sorry Ashington
👍👍👍
We need to invent a curved string line 😂 Well done!
216 👍
Nice😊
If the outside piers are plumb can’t you keep the inside brickwork pier in line with out side perps instead of keep pluming the inside piers?
202 👍
Great job by a true craftsman,I’m so surprised you only got 199 subscribers
Thanks that’s nice of you to say. It’s a fairly new channel hopefully it will continue to grow 👍🏽
Excellent work
Why all the open cross joints in the face of your wall?
Nice job 👍
Can't you just use the outside line, bloody lines everywhere ant bricklaying is it
what footing is that built on mate
The old Footing. Luckily enough it was plenty wide enough for the extra skin of brickwork 👍🏽
Centre of the brick when fixing ties mate Must be a great help having the old wall as a profile Nice tidy job 👍 A very enjoyable watch, thank you
Thank you much appreciated 👍🏽
Does not matter where you fix them actually as long as you get a purchase
Tidy job a finishing touch little spray with wd 40 gets rid of little smears polishes up lovely also used baby oil does same thing
Super nice that
I hate, and i mean hate pointing the rowlock course. You're dead right about full joints. Still hate it though
Nice job! I’m curious about what was wrong with the inner roundabout.
Nothing. The customer just wanted it rebuilt but instead of knocking down the old one and rebuilding it, we thought it would be a lot easier, quicker and save a bit of money just to build another skin round it. 👍🏽
Very nice 👍🏻
Thank you 👍🏽
Should cut your bricks before you start building
Yes I do do this or sometimes get my labourer to caution them. But there was muck on the boards and I wanted to get laying. Plus them bricks are very easy to cut with your trowel 👍🏽
Nice job , why the dpc though 🤷♂️?
there is actually no need for doc as the Staffordshire blue are basically an engineering brick which would stop damp, but when your building run a giant flower bed you can't really avoid the damp. I'm just very OTT with everything lol @@raverdal
Nice 😮
Thank you 👍🏽
Great video as always, the old circle looked better than the new one!Only joking 😂
Bond it with blocks going to crack
Even with the wall ties it's still a straight joint not structureally the best tie for pier work but still good neat build
