Dude you had the single most epic three-soldier brawl in the history of youtube. You literally finished that phase of sephiroth with a synergy ability, followed immediately by a limit by both zack AND cloud. Most people don't even get to experience zacks limit break, but you got that, the synergy, AND clouds limit all at the same time. That was truly epic.

No lie. When I saw cloud stop "the thing" from happening, I paused the game and freaked out. I was like "27 years and they changed it!" For like twenty minutes. Then I unpaused. Confused and deflated the crud out of me after that victory lap 😂.

We're definitely getting the "missing" scenes in part 3. They teased some of the water burial in part 1 - no way that gets cut entirely. They didn't show it here because there are shenanigans afoot! Notice after Cloud blocks the attack - when it glitches, the sword changes angles (partially concealed with a camera pan). The new angle is one where the Seph clone would have stabbed it into the ground himself. And the blood that runs on the ground is coming from the sword's handle. Yet, Aerith is way off in the other direction. And for just a few frames, we get a shot of the clone standing with blood pooling all around its feet, running toward where the blade was in the ground. That blood isn't Aerith's. It's the clone's. Why? Jenova Lifeclinger Assess has the answer: summoning her requires black-robed sacrifice. But why the trickery? Because Sephiroth needs Cloud's rage and despair to complete his confluence of worlds (Sephiroth Reborn's Assess). This was his new plot. Aerith couldn't let that happen. So, she tugged Cloud into a world where he does actually save her. How? Well, the Aerith in the lifestream gained this ability in part 1 after you kill the Arbiter of Fate. The first thing she does with it is save Zack by yanking him from his fate into a side world. She's then able to use his power to help fight Sephiroth Reborn. There's dialogue about a "wind" that the characters felt when they were pulled through worlds, which is shown to us several times in this section of the game, culminating when the lifestream Aerith arrives in the final battle and full heals you, as she had the others before repeatedly. Thing is, the Aerith we knew did in fact die as per usual. The other characters know this. Things are going to get dark. Another wrinkle: in the ending, Aerith is not affected by the big puff that comes out from the Tiny Bronco. But then in the very end, she's affected by its propellers. We're seeing two different Aerith entities in this segment of the game. What does it all mean? I'm not sure. But, the devs gave us two huge clues. First, Zack is still around, probably in the prime world, and is a developed character with his own mechanics. So we'll probably see him again as a part 3 party member. And Aerith? Well, there's no Great Gospel or Princess Guard in this game. And there's no universe in which this game gets remade with those things missing. So get ready for Zack and Aerith to be playable in part 3. Probably in the same party at least once. It's going to be a wild ride!

i love watching people react to my favorite game, characters, story..but sheesh, everytime i hear nanaki say "..aerith?" i feel a piece of me die

Impossible to have one favorite part - I didn't 100% it but when I finally beat the main story, I had over 170 hours in my playthrough. Mostly nostalgic site-seeing. I was alive for the launch of the NES and everything since, and I can say Rebirth is in the top 3 of greatest rpg's I've ever played.

“Dream” date Aerith knew her time was limited and chose to spend her final moments happy with Cloud before giving him the white materia. As for the church scene there’s two different versions with slight dialogue/tone changes. You got the low affection version where Cloud seems indifferent when Aerith asks “Oh, next time?” If the player had gone on any of the two Gold Saucer dates with Aerith Cloud instead responds with “Yeah, next time” while turning towards Aerith and they’re both just smiling at each other before it goes into the “at least I know now where you and I stand.” Imo that slight difference completely changes the tone of the next scene because in the high affection version Aerith was just smiling and happy hearing Cloud wanted to spend more time with her in the future. Square Enix infamously refuses to make one couple canon and has been vocal about letting the player interpret and decide for themselves. Unfortunately Cloud and Aerith’s time was cut short but still she does her best to try and protect him by telling him not to blame himself. I still don’t understand how this fanbase can’t comprehend that the love interest has always been optional. Not saying that you are of course! That’s more at the shippers on both sides that are constantly fighting about one side being the only side.

i got into final fantasy by playing rebirth first 🤣and boy the ending got me too. And now we have to wait 3-4 years to play the last part.

The truth is, I was very surprised, like my mouth was open, but you are not the only person, you are surprised because there are many people like gamers, men and women, who were surprised because Cloud saved Aerith's life, but that is not the case because Cloud continues to suffer for Mako, remember what Zack said... Cloud is very sick because of Mako so Zack must go look for Dr. Hojo but we still don't know where he is 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ then we saw Aerith's death I cried too much 😭😭😭 What happens is that Cloud cries for the loss of his friend Aerith ❤️😭 but Cloud sees Aerith as if she were alive but she is not because Cloud does not want to feel too guilty or feel weak that is why he wants Aerith to stay alive to be strong so we have We have to respect cloud and not question it 😢😢 It was the best reaction, Zack and Cloud together, the battle against Sephiroth was incredible and crazy like the biggest bomb in the world 🎉🎉🎉🤯🤯🤯 Well, it was incredible, the battles against Sephiroth were crazy 🤯🎉 and the battle ended but not yet because the future will be final is final fantasy 7 part 3 🙀🙀 Well, Rufus realized that Glenn is fake because he was Sephiroth to manipulate the president with the war between Shinra and Wutai... at the end we see the water that part final memory fantsay 7 original Cloud leaves it there Aerith like the funeral 😭❤️ Well, Cloud sees Aerith so he wants her to stay alive but for me it is not like that, only Aerith is a ghost as a Cetra spirit Tifa knows that Cloud is sick like a mako disease that she can't cure him 😢😢 and now Cloud has the black matter it is impossible, I thought Sephiroth had it 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ the truth is I don't understand anything This is how we say goodbye to our heroine and Queen 😢😭❤️ goodbye Aerith, you are the best, funniest, nicest, funny, affectionate and very beautiful person 😍❤️ and you also always worry about your teams, such as Aerith always worries about Cloud about Mako She is our girl and we will never forget her 😭❤️ we will do justice so that Sephiroth falls In the end listening to music I cried too much 😭😭😭😭 well thanks for enjoying the ending of this game a very beautiful adventure, fun and a lot of love ❤️❤️ thanks for enjoying this game ❤️ Let's hope the future will be final fantsay 7 part 3 🙏🏻🎉

This church scene is really something; it causes almost as much shipping discourse as the Skywheel kiss. Disregarding all that though it always seemed off to me and recently I think it finally clicked as to why when I was reading a breakdown of the scene someone was doing. Aerith and Cloud aren't on the same page here and beyond that I don't think Aerith is 100% sure exactly what she feels for Cloud at this moment. For varying small reasons (please shippers just relax don't come into the replies throwing hands I'm just analyzing the scene) Obviously they're special to each other and they became very close very fast in the short amount of time they've known each other which makes this scene so special knowing what will come next. Aerith is out of character here in a way I don't think we've seen her before; she's kinda nervous, she can't look him in the eyes while they're talking, that normal optimistic confidence is waning because of how she's feeling as well as her own impending fate. Some of the dialogue and the facial expressions and the body language just don't scream "romantic love confession" to me which is why it always felt off when I thought about it. "At least I know now -- where you and I stand, I mean" the face she's making feels like she can't tell if they feel the same way, so she decides to say it but even as she's saying it out loud it doesn't feel as if she knows for certain how she feels. When she says "like" can mean a lotta different things, can't it?" I don't think Cloud is so oblivious that he doesn't know what's going on cause he makes this face like "Oh boy, ok." Then because he does know Aerith pretty well he starts asking what's going on because she IS acting weird and hiding the situation, and by doing so basically brushes that part of the conversation off to the side whether you think it's because he doesn't feel the same way and not sure how to turn her down or if you think he does and is just worried; he still doesn't reciprocate and Aerith by the look on her face got her answer. The most saddening part though to me is the hug. It really drives her departure home to the heart because she does something I don't think she ever does in Remake or Rebirth and if she does I can't remember at the moment; she hugs Cloud and says sorry afterward. Aerith throughout both games is not shy about touching, grabbing, or locking arms with Cloud at any time without warning or request and usually Cloud just goes along with it, and understandably it rubs some people the wrong way. In this scene though she hugs him, and then jumps away saying sorry almost as if in her mind she understands she selfishly crossed a boundary she shouldn't have. Again whether you think it's because she understands the feelings while complicated aren't mutual or if you think she's just worried about him (or both) it's still such a sad gesture. TL:DR I love Aerith to death literally, and although I don't ship them that church scene is super sad and very well done

This is the main reason why I truly love the moment when Cloud kisses Tifa! And your reaction is one of the best so far this month!

(discussion of stuff from the original below the cut) . . . . . . . The scene with everyone reaching out to Tifa makes me think of the speech about motivation near the end of the OG. Zangan tries to appeal to her survival urge, Sheiran to her responsibility to others, Barret to her duty to finish what she's started, and Aerith I guess to her friends missing her?, but sometimes those just _aren't enough_ to keep you going in the face of it all. Like Cloud says on the Highwind, you need a powerful, _personal_ reason to fight, which she only gets when she sees Sephiroth taking Cloud away and realizes this is something worth living to protect.
