The things that make me smile, from comedy sketches as inspiration, through to seeing an amateur performer go from zero to hero. Not always to give the most amazing performance to an audience, but the one they give themselves. So good or bad, it's all about having a go for me. I thank all the artistes I've worked to, and helped me to help others work too. You wouldn't be part of me if you hadn't been able to inspire me in some way.

He is beautiful to be fair.
I sang this in my Courus this year :P
crazy
Very nice!!!
Well I must say the original is a realy hard act to follow but you guys (and girls) did a great job, well done! top draw
People! It's ridiculous to critique a performance when it's already over. He is awesome - appreciate it!
Kylie Minogue showgirl Tour
i agree with the miscast but i think he nails it musically. the movements are more like dance steps rather than the kind of expressions you would prefer for a song like this, but still, musically, very nice.
what a great ending.
no, it's an F#
Dude, this was a great performance! I really enjoyed it. Sometimes these sort of shows can come across real tacky, but you pulled it off, the look, the whole bit. Well done ;)
just read ALL of the comments (you know how youtube only has 10 or so) I did not know he had so little time to practice. and the fact that he was a fill in explains the miscasting issues. Who was originally supposed to play Amos that had to pull out? Also you mentioned in the first post that he had a week to practice and through out all of the postings it has evolved into 24 hours. Either way its short notice.
This was a total miscast. This performer is wayyyyy wayyyy too "jazz hands" for this part. He is very show biz and too good looking and too dance trained. He should be in a boy band or a back up dancer for Britney spears. Which is a compliment b/c he is very talented and a natural mover and has excellent pop vocals. He could have a real recording career. Musical theater however... umm... not so much. Or definitely not in this role... Total miscast...
Amazing!!!!! Voice is stunning! Face is gorgeous! And could be in westend right now! Especially seen as this was done in his first year of phil winstons :) A superstar in the making! :D
OMG, jazz hands! I love u andy! jk!!!:D
Great job, Andy! Whoever u are, lol
agreed. that is one of my favorite notes ever!
Singing fantastic, choreography pleasant, but there is something left to want with the general facial expressions and emotions. Also, perhaps hold the "knoooow" slightly longer! Otherwise very professional but probably just short of West End/Broadway...
by Dane Youssef This, for me was the most touching and heartbreaking moment in the entire piece. It's about a man who just doesn't seem to matter. But this interpretation doesn't do that at all. He's got too much star potential. He has to sing, dance AND act. He walking on air. He's big and grand. And that's all wrong. He seems to be on the Broadway stage when he should be coming off as a broken man in an alley somewhere. by Dane Youssef
Its what he's singing about. pretty much, something (or someone) that's transparent (aka see through)
dont know who dis is but nice!
thanks for the advice it's very useful, please remember not to take this performance out of context, andy did it as a favour and had a day to practice, so nerves were evident, the show was quite ecclectic in the sense that it was a "highlights" show , lots of numbers from different shows etc. Andy filled a couple of minutes while there was a scene change. But again thanks, all views are taken on board.
Where's the second verse? I did this for thespians and got a superior, so some kind hearted advice, more facial work. Audience loves that stuff. It will really help in making the audience feel sorry for you.
this dude is really cute. i'd tap that
Look, the song is beautiful, the singer is truely gifted, and he looks and acts like a true star. It's easy to fall in love with him. However, this is exactly why this is not a good perfirmance of this song. You are not suppose to deliver a star character, but exactly the opposite. this song is about someone feels like no-one ever notices him. The performer did not deliver this at all.
:S your doing it all wrong dude your sopposed to be sad not all happy. you would have been good as billy not as amus amus is a sad sack who has a crooners voice like your good dont get me wrong your just mis cast
AMAZING! but the thing is i think he needs more emotion on his face it was pretty blank the whole time. john c reilly was pretty good with that.
It's a really good performance. It's really the best i seen in the youtube. I watch this over and over again x)
It's really a good performance. It's the better i seen in the youtube! You have talent man! ;) I watch it over and over again x)
hahah, might be a little quiet on the video, but i thought we did :)
why did they not sing the first to lines?
Well Done !!
hi guys - i posted a recording of andy made on my phone at his college show a week or so ago - apologies for the quality but that's phones for you. I have put some of his new photos to go with the track. Enjoy :)
i loved working with don on this, it'[s still one of my favourite numbers, even though its like 1 million years ago :)
Amazing! Any directors dream! Best of luck to you :]
nice
What's the name of this great singer ?
its a G
could use more vibrato, and taking down an octave might sound better, but not bad
for those interested in the gestures, they came straight from the movie as we had no time to prepare at all. Just to remind everyone that this was andy's first performance with no singing training and less than 24 hrs to prepare. There was no Amos to go on stage so we asked andy last minute if he would do it.Thanks for all your comments they have been really good, Andy has loved reading them all, and watch this space, more andy coming soon. thanks guys.
Too cute and vocals too full to be an effective Amos.
that was great! He has an awesome voice! who cares if he messed up, it was a nice performance
that was great! He has an awesome voice!! who cares if he messes up it was still awesome!
No, he attends a performers theatre school elswhere, but currently he's appearing in the wizard of oz a the lowry with Judy's 'other' daughter, Lorna Luft. They opened last night and it's his first really big pro-gig, so he's totally over the moon. He's gone from being an art student to pro in 2 years, he's done very very well. thanks for all the comments, they've been a great help, truly.
you could tell he was nervous but great voice...sang it wonderfully
i don't know but he is totally cute..
Great performance but you couldnt fix the openning flubb up?
