ITS SO CRINGY
perfect timing <33 i've been struggling to write. thanks for making the content you do, katie :)
thanks for the support 🫶✨
this video motivated me so much holy (I'm gonna write now byeeee)
loved your first tip about making time and choosing writing as a priority. It pairs well with what you were saying about laziness versus burn-out, and I know I've struggled with choosing writing and working around 'not feeling like it', even though I care a lot about finishing my first draft!
yes! there is a big difference between burnout/needing a break and just not feeling like it! you have to learn your brain and what it needs, if you need a break take one, but most of the time i feel like it's just "laziness" or lack of motivation, which can be pushed through!!
When I retire in a few weeks time, I will have a schedule for writing for four days in the week. It will be the same as having a job. I won't set a word count because it might be limiting. I will be going into my home office at 830--12pm, lunch at twelve till one and then back to work until four thirty. These are my expectations.
How did you print it out like that? ❤
12:35 really tickles my brain (it’s 2 am I wanna go to bed)

Author stuff😭😭🙏
Hi Katie writes❤
great outline, thank you.
It better be published in early June 😡💗
A deadline can be motivating. For writers wishing to experiment with that I'd suggest entering a contest of some kind. Doesn't need to be anything too long. I'd also motion to expand on our collective idea of what writing is. If a project is important to you then it's likely you dedicate some thought to it most days. Brainstorming, note making, research, etc imo could all fall under the umbrella of writing. Anyway, thanks for the great video!
Here's my take. For everyone else, go for it! For those coming out of a writer burnout, I'd say no. From personal experience, I'd focus on getting back into the rhythm of writing; along with working on a writing / life / work balance (like me!) if you haven't been writing for a long time. I stopped writing back in 2020, and I haven't returned to it since this month. (That's a four-year writing burnout in my case.) {P.S Refilling your creative well is the most important thing. 1) Consume media 2) Walk 3) Play 4) Converse This is not an exhaustive list of ways to refill the well. I’m also not suggesting that you have to do all of these at once, or even do them forever. But when your Creative Well runs dry and the writing feels like a slog, give yourself permission to take the next step in the writing process: rest.)
let me know what kinds of videos you'd like to see! ✨🫶
Could you film more about the actual writing process?? Like I see a lot of people talk about writing tips but there aren't a lot of videos where you physically see them share their screen and show us what's what. Like obviously ik they don't want to have their work stolen but idk there's ways to go around that? Like coming up with a fake scene or a short story just for an example and to help. Bc I feel like I'm good with the zero zero draft? But I'm struggling and getting intimidated with switching to first drafting.
@@lic3d127 hiiii! thank you so much for the comment! i posted a video last week thats a really extensive guide on how to bring your story idea to a full length completed novel! i talked a little bit about turning zero drafts into first drafts towards the end. i'd be happy to do another more in depth video on just that part if that would help!
What's funny is that I started a story months ago, but since I made a new document to copy and paste the original to edit, I got mixed up which is the document to edit and which is unedited. LOL!!! So I'm stuck. 😂
THIS. Also when i think of an amazing (but sad and traumatizing) idea, i literally get so excited and inspired to write it, like why am i so happy over sad inspiration😭

OMG!!! CONGRATULATIONS FOR ONE YEAR AND 1K!!! YOUR ADVICE IS SOOOO GOOD!!!
as a creative in fine arts, I can honestly say this is the best break down I've seen for getting ideas out on paper. I'm 52 and have been an artist since childhood. I've been in a stump for art ideas, and this really helped to start creating. most of my paintings and drawings are visual stories as I always loved picture books as a kid. Your method is clear and works with any art form. music, visual arts and text. Great job! congrats on you 1000 subs. You may want to do a " how to" book in the future. Cheers!
No wait the aesthetic is actually eating
thank you so much for this!! I have had a story idea for 2 years now and i have been struggling to continue on with it so this helped a lot!!
@@SensitiveDisaster good luck 🫶
This is a good video! However, I will say, if a person's goal is to be a published writer, especially if they want to publish more than once, you do have to force yourself to write and force the ideas to come sometimes. Oftentimes you have deadlines! Honestly there isn't much noticeable difference in the forced writing and the inspired writing, and if there is, that's what editing is for! If a person's goal is just to write for fun, or write as a hobby, though, writing only when inspired makes plenty of sense. Keep the videos coming!
@@Calamity315 that's a good point, thank you!

Hi, I just wanted to put here that instead of using artbreeder, I LOVE to browse model agency websites! There are so many and the models can be so diverse and beautiful and unique if you take the time to look for the right one! I have so much fun with it and sometimes a model will actually inspire a new character or a character trait that I hadn't thought of!! It's my preferred method
This is the first time I ever saw any of your vids and I can say that I am obsessed. You are such a wonderful and warm person giving us your experience and showing us your progress. Even though I never write any book with original characters, I do write fics so this video helps me a lot. Your video is so comforting and you just got a new subscriber! <3 Love u, keep up the good work. I'm going to be here in the long run yey
