Salamat…another good video and joke lang on the phone number…that alone was enough for me to subscribe…it’s almost five years since I met Duma Deb and we were finally married earlier this year so now I need to apply for 13a in order to stay and save the day 😊
The 13A is a great visa, you will be happy with it. Nothing has changed with the process in my videos, but if you have any questions please let me know, always happy to help out.
You never mention there will be a Service fee charge to transfer it to the Philippines like the 4348 E-link they charge $6.50 monthly. No big deal but $6.50 is $6.50 to a fix income like us . But in the anyway on the other hand it’s easy to access my money in BPI in $ or ₱ whatever ever I want it. Take care bro.
Also you have to use A passbook to access your account personally no ATM withdrawal , No transfer or use it for payments. U have to open another savings account.
I'll have to look at that again, guess I didn't say. But you more than make up for it with the good exchange rates. The rates are the most important thing with money transfer.
@@rosaurotoledo6147 , yes, but that's all covered in the next video with all the details.
I looked at the video and I did say I would have another video with all the details about direct deposit to a Philippines bank.
I only lost about $2 in the exchange $ to ₱ in Western union + .99 cents for service fee total $3.00 so I still lost $3.50 the bank manager didn’t even tell me upfront you won’t get the exact amount you get from U.S. Bank so there is deceiving also the initial deposit now is $ 100.00 no more $5 like you said in the past of your blog.only the waiting period is longer 4-7 days to get it to my BDO peso account. It’s a pain I the neck get the money in BPI deposit it to my BDO savings account. Cause I don’t have any account except for that Foreign Currency savings Account. For the record The FBU confirmed that the difference of $6.50 on my pension was the transfer fee of that 4348 elink remittance portal. It’s not direct coming from SSSA treasury to BPI .Just to klet people know that they won’t get the exact amount of their pension kin the U.S. Bank if they transfer it in the Philippines 🇵🇭 local bank.
Even in the US, it’s wise to filter your water. The big two chemicals of concern are fluoride and chlorine. There are obviously others you want to filter out. Chlorine enters the body three ways. Through drinking, absorption through the skin, and inhaled when you take a hot shower. I saw another video from the Philippines, from a couple using a charcoal water filter. Where they were, there was no fluoride in the water, but there was chlorine. Using plastic jugs for your drinking water will likely increase the amount of micro plastics you’re taking into your body. It’s a topic to be considered by each individual and how they decide to manage it.
How long dose the process take once social security receives my direct deposit into my bpi bank and is it possible to scan and email back to social security in manila or should i make an appointment 4:42
Only takes one to two months depends on when you requested the change.
@@piratecovephilippines4711 would it be quicker to receive my September benefits mailed to me if they social security gets returned check back in within the next week .I appreciate your reply ty
What happens if your ill in the hospital and you can't go to the bank ?
Most banks will have an employee go to your hospital or home and take care of your transaction. They often have a rep they does nothing but private service as rich Filipinos don't wait in line at the bank. Of course a small fee will be required. I know a couple of guys did this while in the hospital.
Great video!!!
Thanks for watching
Hello sir, i have a foreigner husband from USA married last year . want to ask what visa he can apply so they will allow him to work here in Philippines? Hope you notice thanks a lot 🙏
He must find a company to hire him and apply for a work permit, only then can he get a working visa. Best way is to get the 13A permanent resident visa, then he can work , no work visa or permit required.
Thanks a lot sir for answered my question 😊
Hello 👋 and thanks for a great informational video. Take care and keep up the good work.
Hi Walter. I just came across your RUclips channel and I just subscribed to it. Great 👍 video with important information on direct deposit to a bank in the Philippines. Thanks and keep up the good work.
Thanks for the support.
we use atm card take money out cost zero from thai bank easy way my money go direct thai bank
Hi Walter! I saw your comment on the Ace hospital in Bulacan on the Philippine Info Channel. I'm ew to the PI and new to Malolos. Think I might have seen you one day at Robinsons? Anyway, would love to meet up with you for a coffee or beer. Best way to contact you?
Good day, yes we must get together. Look for me on Facebook, Walter Lavinder
This is a terrible mistake. If you do this SS will send you a letter once a year and must respond within 30 days, or they will halt your SS deposits. I had mine interrupted many times because they claimed they never got a signed letter back. (This is their way of making sure your still alive.) One year I sent the letter back Express (at a cost of $25) with requested return receipt. I got the receipt back within 2 weeks with a SS persons name. They stopped my SS claiming they never got the signed letter back. I had to call the US Embassy in Manila and argued I got the name of the person signed for it and got my SS deposit back within 2 working days. Other times when I didn't have a name it took 30 days. So if you want to take that route, you were warned.
Been doing it for many years, we just download the form and send back to the US via PhilPost P145. So simple, no problem. I laugh at all you " THE SKY IS FALLING" guys.
@@piratecovephilippines4711 Sky is falling, Your just a jerk and luck you haven't been a victim of the SS.
Thanks for the info

I have heard of a problem, and that was for one guy that was doing this and all of a sudden the money stopped coming from Social Security. He finally found out that SSA stopped sending money to his PH account because he needed to fill out a yearly form that verifies that he is still alive. A form that he never got. If you have your SSA check sent to a USA bank, you do not need that form. Also it can only be a Dollar account, it can not be a Peso account. You can only transfer funds from a "Special Dollar Acct." into a Peso account on line if your bank has a branch office in the USA as well as the Philippines. You can only withdraw funds in person from this "Special" account. In short never ever direct deposit your SSA retirement check into any bank outside of the USA, you'll be sorry if you do.
Hi! just wanna know if the original copy of your wife birth certificate and your marriage certificate were all fastened with a hole as well? thanks
Yes it's no problem and they want that way with the holes. Thanks for watching. Let me know your questions anytime.
@@piratecovephilippines4711 Thank you so much for the response.
I did that back in 2012. Had my SS deposited directly into my US dollar HSBC account in Cebu City. I could then transfer dollars into pesos in my other peso account at HSBC as needed. So easy. I did it all online.
I’m curious… you had mentioned that you had a friend overstay 6 years. What was his fees? Also, how did he go about rectifying the situation?
He got a lawyer, font know how much but said that immigration worked to lower the fines and everything worked out good.
Dont let it accumulate more than $10K or you must notify IRS.
And why would that be a problem ? I'm not hiding from the IRS 😂
@@piratecovephilippines4711 Seriously, I wouldn't treat this lightly. Your Phils bank reports to the USA IRS anytime your account exceeds $10K (they must be agreement). Many expats save part of their SSA every month so it will easily add up beyond $10K... actually, you SHOULD be saving more than that, right? If you happen to forget or just neglect to send IRS that FATCA for or FBAR, it is a serious violation, and you will get severely penalized. You will be considered a potential money launderer. It is one of the negatives of opening a bank account here or in any foreign country and your use of that stupid emoticon indicates your ignorance of the law and, basically, nobody can fix stupid. Good luck.
What happens when you are in the hospital, and you cannot go to the bank and the only way to ge your money is to appear in person at the bank?
Bank employee with come to the hospital and take care of the transaction. They do this all the time, wealthy people here don't go into the bank , it's very common. I have 2 personal friends that the bank came to the hospital for one and the home of another.
@@piratecovephilippines4711 This sounds so ridiculous that I know you can't make it up so it must be true. However, no rich people that I know have personal courier delivery service to their homes from the banks, but I will say this, they had better not deposit more than P500,000 ($10,000) in their high value accounts because that is the limit of their deposit insurance (meaning that rich people do not deposit their money in passbook savings accounts lol).
I hope everyone put their phones down at some point... I guess it's too loud to have a conversation though
Thanks for watching
SSN keeping watch on ninjas. That’s what that is.
SSN ???
Can you put your wife's name on this account also
No
What about Bank of America, do they have them on Northern Luzon?
No, they have no US banks of any kind here. Some Philippines banks have US partner banks , that's great for transfers but accounts are not connecting. Same with PNB has some US branches but don't have accounts that connect.
yes i get mine direct deposited here. i have no cons about getting it here makes life so much easier. i use land bank
Yes, it's definitely so much easier. Thanks for watching
Yes I have land bank also no lines in and out, an very great people 😉
@jamesgilbert2181 Can you have your USA sss pension direct deposited in your land bank account in philippines ? Do you direct deposit as US dollars ? Thanks for your information.
@gratitudetouniverse777 , I believe that land bank is on the list to receive SSA direct deposits. Definitely use a dollar account as you have control over when you do the exchange to pesos. You will receive a much better exchange rates that way. Thanks for watching.
@@gratitudetouniverse777 yes mine comes in dollars which is good because the bank gives top exchange rate
If u come from the uk- banks won’t let you eep a uk account open if you no longer live in the uk- you end up having to cheat and get someone to pretend they are you in the uk so you still have a uk address
I have a couple of friends here in town that have pensions direct deposited to their Philippines bank, but I don't know how all the systems in the UK work. Thanks for watching.
@@piratecovephilippines4711 it’s similar I think to the usa but the uk banks do t like keeping accounts open if they know the person doesn’t live here any more. There are some accounts in the Chanel islands for ex pats plus im looking at keeping some money in a phone of Philippine banks.
Hi. I watched your video. Thanks for the insights. May I ask where can we get the forms?and should we contact the SOCIAL SECURITY before we open a bank account here in the Philippines?
Yes, the SS office in Manila will help set up the bank account, they have an endorsement letter for the bank and makes it very easy.
You can do it all online or in person at the SS office in Manila.
very informative, thank you! First time I have heard a LOT of this!
Thanks for watching, any questions please send me, I always respond .
@@piratecovephilippines4711 thank you again!
Let's bring this thread back to life! - for people who would turn 62 in the Phils, do you need to set up SSA *before* you leave US? Or return to do it once you hit eligibility age? - I've heard if you're overseas and you are using their direct deposit, you need to respond to proof of life letter once to keep receiving payments and that because they need you to respond promptly, people often get tripped up. Old info?
You don't have to set anything up before you move here and you don't have to return to the US to file You can file online 90 days before you turn 62 or you can file in person at the SSA office in Manila at the US embassy. It's really easy to do and not a problem at all. If you use your Philippines address or have direct deposit into a Philippines bank then you need to send the SSA form 7162 to the address in the US each year. Each year they seen the form to you but many don't receive it. Most of us just download the form, fill out the simple 4 question and send it to the US . It's not a problem at all.
So happy to hear this. Thank you. Ok off to binge on your other videos 😊
@@JulienSorelEatsSabras , thanks so much for watching, any questions you have, let me know.
Talk about foreigners looking bad.... Sexpat vloggers in Angeles City need to be banned from vlogging or deported. All the clowns 🤡 (I won't give them publicity by naming them) give Expats a bad name. If you have to come here just for sex and booze, you should stay home and get therapy.
If you're still checking recent comments, how often do you come to the US on a regular basis?
I have never been back to the US in 10 years and no plans to do so. Thanks for watching.
You are too funny!
Setting up to have your SSA benefit direct deposited in a local bank, BDO in this case, is the same as for BPI. There are more BDO branches than BPI where I live that's why I chose BDO... BPI here also has very long lines outside the bank almost daily but not BDO because they have more branches.
I know many that use BDO and are happy with them.

@@joescarper , Yes, that won't be a problem at the airport. But you can extend online and save yourself the fine.
I have another question if I may. After receiving the visa 13a, and my US passport expires (every 10 years), what will I get the visa 13a on my new US passport ? Please let me know. Thank you
Sorry for the delay, we were out shopping. When you get a new passport you take both new and old to the main immigration office in Manila and they do a transfer stamp into the new passport and staple the two together.
Good afternoon. I thank you for the video. I have a question: can you apply the visa 13a while you are in the USA? Please let me know. Thank you
Yes, definitely. And it's much better to do in the US because you don't need to do the probation year they happens when you apply in the Philippines.
I thank you answering my question so quickly. I have another question: my wife and I are planning to retire to the Philippines in 3 years. She has dual citizenship (Philippines and USA). Do we need to make our American marriage certificate valid to the Filipino Embassy? Can we start the paperwork in the USA 6-9 month before departing for the Philippines? I’m trying to get as much information earlier. Thank you
@@bonjourincali , yes you will need to report the marriage to the embassy there. The 13A won't take to long to do there. One thing to keep in mind is once the visa is approved you need to report to the main immigration office in Manila within 6 months. So definitely adjust the timing so you don't have any problems. I have seen people wait months after moving here to report to immigration only to be told they must start the 13A visa processing all over again.
Thank you once again for your response. Are the paperwork requested for the visa 13a difficult to get? Also you mentioned that there will be no probation card (1 year) when the visa is applied within the USA? Is that correct? Please let me know. Thank you
@@bonjourincali , everything you need can be found on the US Philippines embassy website. I was told the staff at the embassy was very helpful with email communication. That's correct, no probation year, once you check in with the immigration office in Manila your visa will be permanent and they will issue you the 13A ACR I card.
Can i get my gf a philippine tourist visa inside philipppines?

@@piratecovephilippines4711 shes from mexico, mexican citizen, we got 30 days on airport and initial visa waiver extension 29 days today so her stay is valid until june 2, her flight back to mexico is june 23 so we wanted to know if we can get philippine visa here on philippines, because were also gonna try to rebook her ticket to longer period of time if we can get her visa here else we can just proceed with the june 23 return ticket.

It's true. The same requirement from Social Security exists in Thailand. You must go to the bank in person and show identification to withdraw money.

Thanks for the info. I'm just trying to understand the best way to apply. You said you did a walk in at the embassy in Manila. Later you said you applied online though your account. Should I pay US Taxes on my😂US Social Security while I’m residing in The Philippines?
Yes, US citizens must pay taxes wherever they live.

So its ok I pay my taxes in the Philippines even my my social security come from here in the US?
@@piratecovephilippines4711 thank you very much for your info sir.
@@susanvan7359 , you only pay Philippines taxes if you earn money in the Philippines, they don't tax your US social security. Anything you receive from the US you must pay to the US if you owe taxes.
If you collect SSDI and live overseas, you are required to return to US every 6 months, stay 30 days, provide proof of stay to SSA. Wash, rinse, repeat every 6 months. I THINK you can get around this by maintaining your US address and putting your cash benefit in a US Bank. Just make sure you have a friend or family member forward any SSA correspondence to you as quickly as possible. Fill out the forms, send it back to your family and have them mail it to SSA. My disability is considered permanent and I have not had a re- evaluation since I started collecting SSDI in 2017.
Negative, you are not required to return to the US to keep SSDI in effect. Many stay here year after year with only a Philippines address and funds deposited into a Philippines bank.
My bad, I was just going by what SSA website said a week or two ago. They give very conflicting info.
Well, I called SSA yesterday and asked that same question about SSDI and they told me that I could only stay out of United States six months and then I had to inform them that I had returned so what is the real deal then@@piratecovephilippines4711

Thanks Walter for your info! FYI Canadian subscribers. I'm a Canadian looking to transfer my Canadian monthly pensions directly from the government of Canada Revenue Agency strait to my Philippine bank account, without any transfer fees or charges, just the exchange rate at that time of the month. As I understand it Revenue Canada will require your out of country bank account information for direct deposit pensions to any bank account in any country that a Canadian has set up with Revenue Canada to receive there pensions in Canadian dollars or other currency as requested. However you are required to withdraw the amount you require from your Philippine bank account of choice in person at any time you like. I think its similar to the U.S. as you stated Walter it's easy that way, go for a walk get some cash for the day, week, monthly or any time. Set up a debit card with your Philippine Bank, it's your money!! 🤩
Yes it sounds like it's set up the same way.
If you are already receiving SSDI in the states and decide to retire in the Philippines. How does that work?
It depends on what you want to do, you can keep it going to your bank in the US and just use ATMs and money transfers or you can have SS change your direct deposit to your Philippines bank.
SSI IN THE U.S, IS WEALFARE
Yes, I know that. And you cannot receive SSI while living abroad. regular SS retirement and SSDI you can receive living abroad.
