Imagine being so fragile that you can't play as a female character without screaming about how you're being assaulted. Don't buy it if you don't like it. The majority of male gamers don't give a fuck, especially in a series where we've already seen the character develop and even played as her before, and besides gamer demographics aren't what they used to be. As of 2023 gaming is roughly 60% male, 40% female in north america, (aka CDProjectRed's main audience) and even more evenly split when it comes to the fantasy genre. If the majority of men with the slightest amount of self confidence don't care about playing as women, and women don't care about playing as one, then CDProjectRed isn't abandoning their fanbase, they are literally promoting a game with a character that makes sense story wise, to their audience that is largely in favor of that decision. Just because you guys scream the loudest doesn't mean you're representative of the gaming ecosystem

Always loved the witcher in terms of world building. But the gameplay in the witcher games felt clunky, was kinda hoping The Witcher 4 would be my ticket to join the franchise since the netflix witcher series failed to deliver. But any project that has dei helping them is a project i won't support even if the game is good. DEI = systematic racism and sexism, it is evil disguised as righteousness and i refuse to take my buisiness to a game company in support of fascism.
