At around 5:00 you said that you use heavy normal attack to hit multiple enemies. Well, from what I know if u connect your hit, your attack stops there (as it is with blunt weapons in general). Anyway, great guide and explanation, really useful, guardian is by far my favourite class, especially with the huge impact on defense it's really a super team-oriented class and true armored giant :)
At the time I thought only the light attack has hitstop. I know the heavy blunt weapons can cleave on heavy attack but the one-handed blunt weapons cannot. Didn't realise it at the time. I like guardian too. When played right it's super durable!
12 wins what lol. the game ends at 10 wins. You got 10 wins, on day 12.
Haha yeah. My bad. I come from Hearthstone and I've played so much arena that ends at 12 wins it's burned into my mind.
how big is your mouse pad? at some points it looks like you don't have enough room on it to turn properly.
Really? Maybe because I play on low DPI and sensitivity. I use double mouse pads. The first is like ~45 cm long and the other is about ~100cm long.
Does anyone else lag really bad while playing this??? I’m on Xbox and sometimes the lagging is horrendous.
Yeah sometimes it's really bad. Could be cheap servers, could be DDOS attacks.
@ yeah I had to get off it people kept disappearing reappearing etc etc. Just gonna go hack n slash on Cyberpunk now.
It's for booping.
If you enjoy this one... you'll fall in love with a halberd

“FREEDOM!” Dies too funny
I wanted to give you a bit of constructive criticism: You often visit merchants or skill shops when you barely have any gold and then can't buy the things you wanted. I think you could have improved your build by visiting the "get a free X" event or the mountain pass/work at the docks event more often. Your income was very low throughout most of the game (the basic +5 starting income) and when you play Vanessa without economy-items (such as the shovel, which you sold early on), you need to go for the free stuff more often, otherwise you'll just end up seeing cool items and skills you can never afford. I hope this isn't too much backseat gaming, I genuinely just wanted to give some advice. Obviously your build was extremly strong anyways and fun to watch.
Thank you for commenting! I appreciate all positive and negative feedback as long as it’s constructive because I’m open to learning. I do agree with the points you raise and have been finding myself low on gold. Recently I have been taking more free items. You’ll see in future videos I’ve gotten better but still making mistakes. Got a backlog of videos I’m editing right now haha.
I’ve found light bow to be very effective on team objective as you can spam arrows and pepper the enemy team making it so much easier for your guys to push through #underrated
Yep the light bow is great for getting in chip damage. 3 shotting vanguards is also funny. Make them regret picking it haha.
The cloak you sold around 26:00 is actually the best item for the build. It gives you scaling on the shotgun and continuous haste. You didn't need it because you got that skill, but it beats other builds that rapid-scale. It's generally good practice to keep star chart in your stash at all times because of the hidden docks choice, and also a friend for scavenger hunt.
Thanks for letting me know. I just don't know what the cloak does because the item is bugged with no description. Still learning the game and having a blast. Yeah I always keep a star chart in my stash now.
Finally a tier list where battle and exec axes are fairly rated. Battle axe is a bully of a weapon and IMO feels much more satisfying than the war axe
Battle axe with the ability to two shot a knight to the legs should be illegal haha. you're right it's such a bully weapon. Use it on close quarters objectives like on bridges and it's GG.

yep
Subbed for the bird of the day. I love birds and it’s really refreshing to hear about Gods beautiful avian creatures. This gun is a pain! I just finished doing the GS45 too
Birds are great! There's over 10,000 to go through so plenty of birds to choose from haha. Yes sniping is a pain for MP and zombies camos but hey, atleast in zombies snipers are pretty good for AOE clearing trash mobs.
That gold is super sick, I like the textured look of it. I imagine it was a pain to get tho lol
Bigggggg pain. Took maybe 6 games on terminus with about 350-400 headshots per game and the other three challenges too.
Based on you're levels bro you must have thousands of hrs my goodness it has taken me to get archer lvl 18 like 200hrs
I have around 400 hours and archer is my least played class haha
Any weapon is the easiest weapon when you only fight people 2v1
true
12:33 you can regenerate health over time by not using stamina or running. Hope this helped ^^
Thanks! I figured that out eventually haha. Only took me 70 hours into the game.
It always amazes me how often good chivalry players still die on RUclips. I usually feel like I suck when I make the same mistakes or only get 1 kill before dying again, but then I see videos like this and think well I guess no one is safe here, haha. Thanks for the video man definitely learned some take away from watching you.
Thanks for commenting :) Death comes for all of us eventually but the difference between experienced and inexperienced players is how they mitigate risks and reduce their odds to dying to avoidable deaths. Some tips to surviving include not taking fair fights, avoid walking under traps, minimise time exposed to ballista sight lines, avoid high danger catapult areas, always keeping teammates near. Lots of tips beyond getting good at the combat to survive and thrive but at the end of the day if the time comes it comes and you’ll just have to respawn haha.
I have back capped dustbowl 3 as spy in 2007 and in 2024. Just a perfect video game tbh.
It’s great!
All the archer classes should be in C for cowardly
I'm only good at skirmisher, I'm bad at all the others :(
With enough practice you’ll get good with the others!
HILARIOUS HELP SIGN NEAR END , IF YOU GET DUSTBOWL , YOU TRAPPED FOREVER , WE ALWAYS VOTE FOR IT !!
Nice video bro, with respect the way you play I would be the guy to chase you down the whole game and T bag cause you fought like a “coward” but that’s part of the game if it works it works it’s what makes the game fun lol
And I wouldn’t get mad at you because that’s the way the game goes haha
How can i get fast exp for archer?
For longbowman aim for low hp enemies to get easy kills. Look for enemies covered in blood, crawling on the ground, healing, or running away. For crossbowman place your banner near choke points to rack up a ton of points by healing your treat. Just like longbowman, aim for low hp enemies. For skirmisher try to find resupply crates and spam javelins. Hope that helps.
@@klevinduck Thank you so much :)
Hi,im a relativly new player and pretty much the whole community hates soo much on archers like they are completly overpowerd and i really don't understand why.Sure there annoying but op???You have to actually aim to get kills. So in crowd modes like TO its way easier to get high kill games with melee weapons than it is with ranged weapons.I really don't get the hate. And i really apprieciate you opinion about archers and that you don't downright curse everyone who picks them. One of the only solid rankings i found👏👏👏
Welcome to the game and I hope you’re having a good time :) People don’t like archers because there’s not much counterplay against ranged attacks beyond stay out of line of sight or use a shield. That’s what makes archer so powerful but also why it’s hated, especially by high level melee players. A lot of players have big egos and you can put them in their place with a few well placed shots.
@@klevinduck yeah had a great time so far,its really a gem.before i have Played mostly battlefields and star wars battlefront. And chiv 2 really feels like an medival battlefield. Thx for your reply and best of luck to you👍
Back capping is hilarious whenever it does work
“You guys are free to have ur own opinions” how dare you speak about my longsword like that 🤦♂️🤦♂️amateur (jk)
haha the funny thing is longsword is the only weapon I've gone deathless with
THIS IS THE GAME FOR ANGRY PEOPLE LIKE ME!!!!!!!
YEAH!
What is the actual mechanic use of Shields in this game? Because if they can break - as they should realistically - then what is the actual tanking benefit of them? Asking because if shields can block a finite amount of time but weapons can infinitely, then what am I missing? When is it beneficial to block with the weapon itself instead of using the shield? Are all shields able to block attacks from all hand held primary weapons? Light only or heavy too? Because a lot of times no matter if I press block the attack still slips through frontally, like normal side swipes from the front!
Shields are fantastic and I don't show that in this video unfortunately. In later videos where I use spear and shield in particular you will see shields can be used to: 1 - Tank up to 500 damage. That's 5 heavy mace overheads for reference. 2 - Give you a ton of extra stamina. This gives you a tremendous advantage in 1v1s. When you block with a shield you take less stamina damage. 3 - They block arrows and projectiles such as javelins and balista bolts. 4 - They can be thrown to finish off weak enemies. So shields are quite versatile and although they are finite they give you great benefits while active. If you adopt a mosquito playstyle where you dodge in and out of combat and take cheap shots (gank) enemies your shield won't wear out so much and you'll also rarely take projectile damage. It's great.
When is it beneficial to block with the weapon itself instead of using the shield?
If the shield breaks you will get stunned for a bit which almost guarantees the enemy can get one hit on you. In that case it's better to block with the weapon. In first person mode the shield takes up maybe 1/3 of your screen so it obstructs vision a lot. Better to block with weapon if you don't like your vision being reduced.
These are obvious. Defense seemingly has a stamina toll. Do shields have a max stamina damage they can take on at once, regardless of their overall health? Because when I try to defend from some large poleaxe thing with a Skirmisher Small Shield about 1 in every 3 times my character simply does not defend regardless of me pressing the block button! Why is that?
I don’t think there’s a max stamina damage threshold. It’s just when you’re out of stamina you’re out of stamina and get disarmed. Archer has low stamina so you’ll notice it more than if you were a melee class. Light shield also has the least hp so it’s more prone to breaking. Anyway light shield is only to be used against projectiles. For that use it’s best to swap to a bigger shield from the ground as soon as possible.
3:12 Killed by DUCK! XD
😆
Time to go chop sum archers 🫡
Have fun haha

what is better mace or Morni star
They are both almost identical. I think as a primary weapon morning star is slightly better. Mace as secondary on Officer is good because it can be paired with throwing knives. Anyway like I said they both basically the same.
Is BRORUNATME at 6:00 wearing Beast Hunter armor? Seems less colorful, more desaturated in this video than in my game, and I like it more here.
To be honest I have no idea what that armour is. Maybe they’ve applied a FFA exclusive heraldry to it.
Didn't you consider guardian a Frontline brawler/tank class whose shield heavily supports that play style? I sure don't see a lot of that here. You don't tank for your teammates, you don't even use your shield and you stay back pretty much the whole time, mainly just taking pot shots at unsuspecting enemies. It's an effective strategy, don't get me wrong. It just clashes rather jarringly with your statements about the class.
You’re absolutely right.
anyone who watches this video is an absolute problem to this game and its community. go play some kind of idiotic game not a sword game and use bows you women behind computers
I find your criteria extremely weird. Why does it matter whether or not a weapon 2-shots classes? You're only considering team objective. In that mode, the likelihood of either fighting injured opponents or them getting finished off by teammates is very high. TO is the one context I wouldn't rate 2shot potential as highly. It's still cool, sure but ranking for instance the poleaxe lower because its slashes don't 2-shot knights is very arbitrary. Slashes are its worst attack. That's like saying the spear sucks because it has a crappy overhead that doesn't 2-shot. Also, vanguards being rare may well be selection bias from the limited Oceania playerbase. I find vanguards to be as or more common than footmen. As well there's some general sloppiness in this. For instance, the battle axe isn't on officer but on crusader. Another thing is about the Warhammer. Saying the heavy shield helps with its pathetic range is just weird to me because you need to move quickly in order to get in range. The shield slows you down and also disincentivises counters, which also help closing distance. So the range absolutely is a disadvantage you handwaved for the worst reason imaginable. You seem to be valuing damage output over anything else in most cases but then ignore that the mallet can actually do the o so cherished 2-shot on knights while the throwing axe can't by a long shot. Idk your ignorance is showing I get the video is unscripted and mistakes happen but these kinds of mistakes make it a bit difficult to take your word for anything. Lastly, the list seems very arbitrary in terms of which weapons you group where. Why separate "primary" and "secondary" weapons? It makes no sense because many weapons can be both primaries and secondaries. Like, you talk about the short sword which is only primary weapon on ambusher but leave out the mace which is basically the same as the morning star. Then you separate out melee weapons based on "secondary" status yet leave in bows and crossbows? I don't get it I just don't because they're in no way comparable, especially compared to your secondaries.
Thank you for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it and acknowledge you make some valid points. Let's go through them to discuss if you wish but at the end of the day this video is based on my opinion and experience. I respect that you disagree. I value two shotting enemies and high damage per hit weapons because often in team objective your window of opportunity to hit opponents can often be small when two blobs go at each other. Low damage but faster hitting weapons often don't perform as well such as the glaive because when you do get your hit in it doesn't do significant damage before it can be healed up. The exception is if you play on the flanks and try to isolate 1v1s or are chasing stragglers. You can disagree with this point but there are reasons why most lobbies are halberds, axes, heavy maces, etc. Swords are popular and effective if there are vanguards in play. As for the poleaxe I revised my ranking but it's only in the bio and pinned comment. It has great single target damage that can two shot knights but doesn't have good crowd control due to weak slashes and the alt slash having low range. There is selection bias. I rank items based on my experience in TO OCE. Vanguards dont' appear often but when they do it's an opportunity to make a video with a sword or bow weapon. Duels on the other hand vanguards make up like 90% of the fighters because that's where stamina matters more and the ability to two shot doesn't matter when fights can be death by a thousand cuts over minutes. Fast weapons like war mace and rapier dominate in this format but that's not for this list. General sloppiness, I agree. I take notice and make efforts to not make the same mistake in later videos. Large shield has 500hp. You can walk at enemies and what are they going to do? They can keep walking backwards away from the objective. 32 guardians will beat 32 of any class due to the sheer amount of HP. Short weapons are fantastic if you have something to close the distance with. In the case of Guardian it's the fat health pool. You can disagree with me on this one but play a game where one team stacks guardian and you'll see they're either unbreakable or unstoppable. You can call me ignorant or whatever you want. That doesn't improve your argument. Throwing axes and mallets as secondary/tertiary positions can be swapped if you'd like. Throwing axes are a secondary for Crusader while mallet is for Devastator. However, I think Crusader is a better subclass in my opinion. Plus, I value the better melee potential for the axes and the fact that they stick makes them easier to retrieve. That puts the axes slightly above the mallets for me. You don't have to take my word for anything and I understand what you're saying. I can thoroughly explain every single nuance and detail for the weapons but I won't. I had already spent days looking at the detailed spreadsheets from the polehammer website, 6 months uploading a video every single day for each weapon for each class used as both primary and secondary weapons. My experience is my experience. Weapons are grouped as primary and secondaries because of class restrictions. You have to compare each weapon relative to each other and what the subclasses have access to. Why should I rate the falchion as a primary weapon for the skirmisher when it's clearly a backup for when javelins run out? The criteria for primary weapons and secondary weapons are different. One is you main source of damage, one is for when you are in a pinch because you got disarmed or are getting rushed down by a guy. You can disagree on this as well but I've chosen to rate weapons twice for primary/secondary use. It's like how a pistol is a terrible primary weapon but a good sidearm. The mace is not a primary weapon for any class. It is a secondary weapon. It is very similar to the morning star in terms of stats but mace is for Officer which has access to throwing knives in the offhand which is better than morning star on Crusader with no weapon in the offhand. If mace were a primary weapon for Man-At-Arms or Guardian it would be one spot lower than morning star as it is statistically slightly worse. Ranged weapons are the primary damage source for ranged classes. They are primary weapons. Mallets, throwing axes, and throwing knives are secondary/tertiary weapons for the melee classes.
Appreciate the detailed response. I probably came across a bit more confrontational originally than I had intended. Of course you have your own experience and your reasons for valuing certain weapon over others are up to you. It's kinda funny, I agree with most of your placements but I disagree with your reasoning, Warhammer being the prime example. That's actually the only thing I think you're just wrong about. I agree it deals nuclear amounts of damage and it's reasonably fast. But closing distance against longer weapons is made a lot harder with a shield because it slows you down too much. As you said yourself: in TO, your time window to kill enemies is limited so I'd argue extended survivability serves that purpose a lot less than actually being able to advance swiftly. You're acting like all damage always gets blocked with a shield but we both know 90% of players die well before their shields do. You still have to play well to utilize it and attacking out of range is for sure one of the most common ways for mediocre players to eat hits. A shield simply doesn't help with this. Needless to say, I find the notion that a team of guardian players would be unstoppable to be ridiculous. Take a team of polearms. Nimble, long ranged classes vs slow, short ranged ones. That's a pretty hard counter if you ask me. Not saying polearms dominate guardians by default. Just saying it's an uphill battle. Just in general I think you overestimate the large shield. Durability really isn't everything. For instance you say the jab damage on light shields is awesome if you run fist & shield. But how is that exclusive to fists? That jab damage is a huge boon to any play style. Plus the light shield doesn't slow you down. It's all a trade off, which is a nuance I missed in your evaluation. Saying the large shield is better because it's more durable is like saying the glaive is the best weapon because it's the longest and fastest.
Don’t have to take my word. Look towards history. Spear and shield dominated the battlefield for most of human history. There was a period where big shields allowed the Romans to close the distance and get in close range. Tactically speaking the Romans with their heavy infantry on uneven ground smashed the Macedonian phalanxes which used pikes (No one is fighting in large open field battles with tight formations in Chivlary). I’m sure the Greeks could have done the same if they united on the strategic level. Massed spears would also lose to massed archers but luckily that’s not possible in Chivlary 2. For history look to English armies fielding 9 archers for every knight or man at arms. In the late medieval time shields were replaced because plate armour became super protective and accessible. In Chivlary 2 plate armour doesn’t exist as all classes just have health. So in a world where everyone has varying levels of health rather than armour big shields and one handers will dominate. If plate armour worked like in real life then I’d say 32 officers would be the best but that’s simply not the case. If you don’t looks towards history do the math. [32 knights x 175 health + 32 shields x 500 potential health] beats out 32 knights by a long shot. For context a heavy shield can absorb 5 heavy mace overheads lol.
Well I'd certainly say this isn't history so real historical circumstances hardly matter. Just like math. Sure, in theory they have an enormous capacity to absorb damage. But what about vanguards for example? They have a huge stamina pool meaning they can also block a lot, the difference being their stamina recharges unlike knight health. In addition they actually have an advantage when it comes to abusing weapon reach and spacing just in general. That's not even to mention shield player very rarely actually exhausting their shield's entire durability. As I said, almost all of them die way before their shields break because guardians have so many other disadvantages. Also, shields promote a faulty play style in many people which leaves them open to being flanked, kicked and outranged. Not saying guardian is a bad class or even that shields are bad. Just that they're a side grade and cannot be considered superior or even invincible, as you claim. That's not even mentioning that you yourself don't use your guardian's shield so again, I'm not exactly confident in your assertion. If shields really are that good, why not use them?
wish we still had the spike trap
Did longbowman use to have spike traps? I must have not been around for that.
@@klevinduck yeah when i look i can see the spike trap but it keeps the brazier thing
I don't get why they didn't give this class of all things the Bolt carbine that sniper uses yet they gave it to the tactical class which has way better weapons. The base default bolt weapon for vanguard is just too inaccurate for me
It's a bit doodoo beyond close range. I don't understand why tactical gets so many weapon choices.
I just started less than a week ago. My favorites: Officer, Skirmisher, Man-at-Arms Not interested: Field Engineer in its current state, Ambusher Had a hard time playing as: Devastator, Raider, Poleman Chill fallback: Crossbowman The others just don't stand out so much yet: Guardian, Crusader, Longbowman Having trouble figuring out why my character sometimes doesn't do what I click him to do. And it is hard to apply useful tricks in the heat of battle. Being able to perform a triple feint doesn't mean I can do it anytime. Playing mostly third person to get a feel for the situational awareness. Also having trouble measuring the distance where Jabs and Kicks would work. But at least the occasions are obvious. Additionally having extreme trouble finding shields on maps when I lost mine or want to get one if I didn't have one at all.
Hi again. Officer I would say is a great starting subclass for beginners. The knight class is general is great because of its high health pool and really reliable weapons. Field engineer is perfect to team based objective play but in direct combat it is quite bad. Ambusher has a lot of nuance to it that a new player won't understand right off the rip but overall it isn't really a good class and can be hard to play. Devastator and Raider are part of the Vanguard class which I think is hard for new players in general because of the lower health pool compared to knight or footman. The relatively increased speed and stamina won't help if you don't have good footwork or can't dodge attacks well. Poleman is great due to it's long reaching weapon but you really need to have good teammates on the frontline to thrive. In direct combat Poleman's weapons are a bit clunky to use and you can feel like you're getting rushed down. Crossbowman is really chill for beginners so good pick haha. Longbowman is harder to play but has a lot more killing potential. All of the points you bring up about applying combat tricks, situational awareness, finding shields, etc are really learned by playing and getting a feel for the game. You'll get the hang of things eventually so don't get disheartened if things don't click right away. I've made several beginner guides that are really basic because the points you bring up above are simply learned by playing more.
Thanks. The problem I have with Devastator, Raider, and Poleman is that their weapons' attack speed is so slow, enemies with even slightly faster attack speed can run circles around me. And it's not like I'm playing duels either, I'm mostly in practice mode. I'm actually doing the same to them when I wield a Short Sword.
I see what you mean. When I first started playing I only used fast weapons like the one handed mace. When you get used to spacing and using footwork to side step attacks using big weapons that are slower becomes easier. Checkout my highland sword video and you’ll see that even when using one of the slowest weapons a lot of damage can be done with good positioning.
I don't like one-handed maces in this game, but the short sword is pretty good. Oddly enough since I last replied I had great successes with the HEAVY MACE! That thing seems oddly good. Sadly, a lot of times the game is unplayable for those who didn't play Chivalry before because there is no SBMM, level 1000 players destroy lobbies and outright deny gameplay or fun or sportmanship. I've grown accustomed to outright leaving matches where there is a player above level 400 or so which I absolutely cannot stand up to. There is a point where losing so hard has nothing to teach. But sadly sometimes those same level 1000s use alternate smurfer accounts below level 200 to use the same skills to yet again destroy any semblance of fun the game could have had and laugh and teabag all their way to their own real life failure. But on an unrelated note. Is this game still being developed by the makers? I heard the last update was about 4-5 months ago with the Goadendag, right? Or is it abandoned now? Because the Vote Kick system is broken, the matchmaking autobalance is also absolutely broken especially considering bots shouldn't even matter, the battle pass campaigns require third party authentication fixes to function properly, and it is a real shame that the Falx weapons are only skins yet not distinct weapons.
Game is no longer receiving content updates. It's fun but will bleed player count. In the last couple of updates skill based team balanced was introduced for the start of the round. There is sometimes mid-game autobalance but at this point the good players will still play the game and newer players will keep getting matched up against veterans. It's like that for all niche games with hardcore fanbases.
Hello I'm a newcomer. What game mode is the one in which I can get to that snowy level in the beginning of the video?
Hi. Hope you're having a good time so far :) The snowy level is called Thayic Stronghold. It is a Team Objective (TO) map and you can get to it via 64 or 48 player mixed modes from the quick play menu. In the server browser you can look for TO | Stronghold to get it as well. Hope that helps.
Thanks!
how can you backstab 150? i only did 100 :D
Ambusher has Backstabber perk. I’m not sure of the angle you need but yeah back attacks deal 50% more damage.
great video, maybe some music in the background next time
Good suggestion!
