Hello. I have a problem. I have a game that starts from a USB pendrive, but does not start from MX4SIO. I have tried various methods but it still does not want to start. The game image is exactly the same as on the USB. Other games start. How to solve this problem?

Is there a way of cloning a memory card completely? I mean if I want to duplicate one that already has some exploit installed? I want that bc I have that memory card with an sd slot, so I can edit the contents of it in my computer and then clone it to another simple memory card.

It was so nice of Sony to think of integratting to MC slots, so we could use FreeMCBoot with an MX4SIO!

Not slamming the video at all, but technically the "PSX" is a Japan-only Playstation 2 with a built-in DVR. The original Playstation is just Playstation, though for clarification we often call it PS1 as opposed to that smaller later revision labeled PSOne as you show.

I am in pretty much the same situation but starting at a different point. I backed up three different 128K Gameshark / Goldfinger devices. Then flashed to Unirom and they work great in that regard. All of them, when trying to restore from the backup, it runs with no error but power on the PS1 and it acts likes the device isn't there. Put them back to UniROM and they're fine. I guess the backup or restore process is no bueno. UniROM 8.0K.

Would that region unlock a japanese psx?

The format option I was under the impression it would format but also will install THI as well. It just formats the card

Went to my local retro game store and found a “mini goldfinger” serial port cheat device. It’s stock firmware had a disc swap feature that i used to boot a tonyhax international cd-r following your tutorial. I thought I was going to have to hack my ps2 and buy a second ps1 memory card, thanks for making the only RUclips tutorial on the subject

Thanks for posting this video. I had an old very early gameshark cart that I thought was dead. I didn't think to try flashing blank and then retrying. That worked. In my case I also couldn't seem to get the appropriate gameshark firmware to load but could write unirom and a couple other small roms to it.

Where did you find wMx4sioELF? Or is that a local name you gave the latest version of wLaunchELF?

Been trying to update my tonyhax to the newest version on my cheat cart but it will not flash 😞 the .ROM file is separate in the Tonyhax international rom folder so is the ROM file also in the disc because it will not flash.

If i put usb memory in format EXFAT fmcb stuck on start up logo but when i use mx4SIO EXFAT work very good.

Does the art work jpegs have to be a certain size to work with mx4sio. Or does it scale the cover sizes automatically?

I just got a mx4sio. I’ll try it out with the ELFs you posted. You also mentioned something about the controller freezing with the HDMI video adapter plugged in the USB for power. What adapter are you using for HDMI output? Mine has very low quality, even when outputting 480p.

When you do that on a fat ps2 memory card while the mx4sio card is out will it work with the hard drive?

PS2 CD games have a blue back. All comercially-released PS2 DVDs have a silver bottom.

Yes, MX4SIO as well as other tools and software for PS2 (&PS1) have become way better in the recent years.

Any word when they’ll update THI to work with other EPROMs? My cart with the AMD 29F010B EPROM just times out when you try to flash it with THI.
