to be fair, shgaru is one of the most annoying monsters to face with most weapons, so i don't blame you. hammer was pretty brutal and ultimately i had to go Evade Extender 2 and embolden just to keep with him. going even further to improve time on him would be a fucking hassle for hammer due to how rng heavy he is.

That, and from neutral, or in a window after the first and second charge swing in the 3 swing combo you can press circle (A on Switch) to do water strike. Which is an omni-directional counter (that does 0 dmg) that shortcuts you into the last swing of the 3 hit combo. As good as that sounds you honestly just hold charge, do the 3 hit combo manually, and keeping sway through damage the vast majority of the time. But for some matchups water strike is really useful. On Strength hammer water strike can be done out of any hit in your basic combo, goes into upswing, or big bang combo. If you choose big bang then every hit in it counts as a water strike and will omni-directionally counter during it. That sounds great, but in practice Strength hammer is the worst weapon in the game. It's too slow, with too much backloaded damage, and that damage is easily half of what it should be. So you have this high commitment weapon with zero reward. Courage hammer is great though. It's much faster, and does twice as much damage if not more. Don't play strength hammer after sometime between MR10 and AR121ish imo. It's better than Courage till then though.

ye, it's pretty spammy with this monster, but it was best way i could find to play without using explosion bug. tetraseal just isn't that good on him

@@kusolp544 im using the foe beetle kinsect. i used it in for an easier time getting the extracts. it'll give you two extracts everytime you hit a part instead of one. i typically use alucanid or bilbobrix, but sometimes pull out this one if im not doing alot of tetraseals.

honestly aknosom wasn't the worst monster i fought. i thought i was going to have to use explosion bug, but i found DW to be more consistent in this fight. and yes legendary bird music for not legendary bird lol

my set was built for diving wyvern and to abuse silkbind boost on amatsu glaive. his wings are the only good spot to hit for element glaive, but they're too hard to hit constantly with tetra. DW stacks terribly with element skills as well so i went full raw on my skills. he's too aggressive anyway with his constant barrage of combos and low amount of idles for tetra to be worth using. pretty much it's just try to hit all my kinsect slashes in between his combos and land the DW. you could make the argument tho that i should've diving wyvern his wings tho instead of trying to go for the second KO since i pretty much got it at the end of the run. aknosom is also a very unexplored matchup with this weapon. i looked pretty hard to see if i couldn't find another ta wiki run for glaive on this monster but ultimately could not find anything, even on the japanese and chinese side of youtube and billi billli. there is a possibility that people could look into the matchup and find tetra more effective, but i just couldn't get it to work for this fight.

The point of these runs is speed. Like the runner said above, if this strat beats all the others then thats it. If you are looking for specific playstyles you might have to look for a different ruleset or a different weapon. Better yet if you yourself can improve on the time by using the playstyle you want in the same ruleset. That would truly be awesome.
