don't let people take advantage of your good nature. i think you were lucky that he did end up flaking out on you so many times though because he definitely thought you were someone he could easily manipulate. unfortunately there are a lot of hurdles when it comes to meeting new people, whether it's just to be friends or otherwise, so please be careful!

i'm similar to you in that i prefer smaller groups/crowds and generally just being around less people. family is generally more chill for the most part and it feels like there's just less pressure in general. i hope you had a great time and i hope you got to try out a lot of the interesting foods there!

This has worked for me whenever I go to places with a lot of noise and crowds: I wear earbuds and put on some Johnny Cash or whatever soothing melody I can get my ears to focus on. have you tried something similar?

I like visiting Disney parks because I like interacting with the Disney characters and it helps give me a chance on being creative with them. I struggle with autism including a learning disability along with cognitive disability where it causes me to struggle with having friends or maintaining them along with struggle to find ways to better communicate my thoughts. Going to Disney parks is a great way for me to be creative on interacting with Disney characters without feeling bad about myself. Unfortunately I'm heavily sensitive to rids that are fast where it causes me to get dizzy or overwhelmed. Another thing that I do when I go to Disney parks is ride the slow rides that is suitable for me.

My dad is half-Italian and half-Chinese, and I remember several road rage incidents with other drivers calling him a "Mexican" and telling him to go back to his own country. It's not always your fault. Some people are just racist.

How much was the KFC. I try to stay away from fast foods these days but it’s fun to watch others eat. I usually eat the chicken nuggets with the mashed potatoes. Eat one nugget then a spoonful of mashed potatoes. I save the biscuit for last and I like to put honey or jelly on it. Try not to worry about those crazy drivers. 👍

This kind of thing has happened to me like 4 times. It hurts. I haven’t tried to make any close friends for 20 years. With the exception of my wife, who is the only friend I’ll ever need.

It does hurt: I've had it as well, and it's bewildering.

Despite being so hurt you genuinely wish her well, that's not easy. And yeah for sure, could well be that God is keeping you safe from further hurt, in which case it's a blessing in disguise. I admire your personal and spiritual maturity, you're a great example Melanie

Yes for sure even without the sensory issues, like you say Coachella (and festivals generally) are overhyped and overpriced etc. And maybe you end up only enjoying some of the bands you watch, after paying a big ticket price. And if you watch a headline act the crowd is so big and you're standing. So yeah I agree you're not really missing out as much as you think because there's a lot of hype but several disadvantages. I prefer looking out for sideshows where you can sit down and avoid all the hustle, and you can see well and it's better value for money. This year Coachella has Tyler the Creator, who I saw by myself in Sydney in 2022 and it was great. If he comes back I'd rather do that again at a venue where it's just him and a support act. I also saw Blur who are on the lineup. We don't have anything with the prestige of Coachella but we still get a lot of big acts, and they mostly tour during our summer.

I'm 30min from Coachella and Don't even wanna go 😅 The lineup is ridiculous. High High prices and yes some stores up the prices. I'm more interested in aftershock 😮
