Breaking the Myth - You DON’T Need Anger to Shatter Bricks!”
Breaking the Myth - You DON’T Need Anger to Shatter Bricks!”
Real progress in martial arts, and the ability to break a brick safely and effectively, comes from consistent, structured practice under the guidance of qualified instructors.
The ability to concentrate one's energy and execute a precise break requires a tranquil, focused approach, not a mind clouded by anger.
The idea that anger is a necessary component in breaking a brick is not only inaccurate, but it can also lead to dangerous practices and faulty beliefs and can lead individuals to overestimate their capabilities,
potentially resulting in disastrous consequences when attempting real-life physical challenges.

KYOKUSHIN KARATE STILL SHARES IT'S PARENTHOOD WITH ASHIHARA KAIKAN KARATE! HIDEYUKI ASHIHARA TRAINED IN KYOKUSHIN KARATE AFTER HIDEYUKI CREATED ASHIHARA KAIKAN KARATE WHICH IS INCORPORATED WITH THAI BOXING, PANKRATION, JAPANESE JIU-JITSU, JUDO, ENSHIN KAIKAN KARATE WITH SABAKI FOR FOOTWORK!

Began training in 1979, brown belt 2nd kyu in 83, 1st kyu in 84, my instructor put me forward for shodan in 1988, he made me work so hard just to attempt black belt grading, but it was well worth all commitment and effort. OSU !!!

My left leg got battered in training.
Osu These are common when training in full contact, a little R.I.C.E. rest ice compression and elevation shout definitely help this
@kyokushinsociety thanks. But I have a question, what do you mean by elevation shout?
@ Elevation (keeping the injured area raised above the level of the heart to drain fluid away from the injury and reduce swelling)

Great style but nowadays parents won't let their kids be disciplined the way the style was meant to be. Training is brutal. Longe live Mas Oyama.

I'm 38 pushing 39, is there any chance i can start this discipline?
Osu You can start at any age my friend :)
Yes. I just turned 49 and just received my Orange belt in Kyokushin Karate. I went from 265lbs to 197 lbs! It got me back into working out strong. You can do it.
I’ve always been curious about Kyokushin, this breakdown really helps. Thanks for the clear explanation!
Osu Thank you
Karate was never mean to be about two guys standing in front of each other only doing leg kicks and punches to the body. It's a tough style but doesn't reach realistic fighting skills.
👍
It's because in Kyokushin Tournaments you don't use gloves not even protection in the hands is better avoid injury.
These misguided comments often come from those who have never stepped into a ring or experienced the intensity of bare-knuckle sparring. With over 25 years of experience in Muay Thai, wrestling, judo, ITF Taekwondo, and Kyokushin, I can assure you that Kyokushin is no joke when it comes to the toll it takes on the body. The reason we refrain from punching or elbowing to the face is precisely due to the immense damage we can inflict-this is a serious form of combat. However, we do deliver powerful kicks and knees to the head, which are no less effective. If you doubt the authenticity of Kyokushin as a combat sport, I invite you to join one of our classes. I guarantee it will transform your perspective. Osu!

@@kyokushinsociety Osu 🙏 do you think 40 is too old to learn Kyokushin? I always wanted to learn it
@zentradingtech It is never to old to start training in this style or any other. I know many people that started at your age and even older than you and had a awesome long lasting martial arts journey. start now don’t wait any longer Under the right instructor you might be surprised what you can accomplish Osu
Great breakdown of techniques for both adults and kids. Really helpful to see the different approaches side by side

Judo is considered the sucessor to kito ryu jujutsu. Kano only got the master level scroll for kito ryu and used kito ryu theory on upsetting balance and using the oponents for e against them to create judo and keep all of kito ryus kata in modern judo as the koshiki no kata. So basically judo is kito ryu jujutsu plus an expansion pass of new content he created or learned. Random useless fact- the term judo was used by a former kito ryu master for his style hundred years before kano who simply revitalize the term for his new system.

Very well presented and great for note taking, OSU🥋

I am about to prepare for a Kyokushin tournament in 6 weeks. Can you give me any tips on a training regime besides my Kyokushin training? I’m 49 years old this will be my first tournament. I have been training Kyokushin on and off for around 4 years but I am serious about my training this time. Thank you!
Here’s a six-week regime to help you prepare physically and mentally for your tournament outside the dojo time I will make a short video in more detail of this if I get a chance and have time work permitting me Week 1: Assess and Set Goals Spend some time reflecting on your strengths and areas for improvement. Week 2: Develop a Comprehensive Training Plan Design a balanced training plan that incorporates different components of martial arts and fitness. Your plan should include Conditioning / strength training / flexibility and should reflect your physical capabilities Week 3: Focus on Technique As you continue to build fitness, it’s crucial to maintain your Kyokushin technique. Set aside regular practice sessions at home to work on katas, sparring strategies, and combinations. Week 4: Incorporate Sparring and Mental Preparation This week, prioritize sparring drills, either with a partner or through supervised settings. Week 5: Taper and Refine As you enter the final stretch before competition, it’s essential to taper your training intensity. Week 6: Recovery and Mindset In the final week leading up to the tournament, shift your focus to recovery and mindset. Regardless of age, adopting this structured regime will slingshot you towards success in your Kyokushin tournament. Don’t forget about nutrition this is very important start week one day 1 - good nutrition healthy strong body , no surprises on tournament day Each week builds upon the last, preparing you not just physically, but mentally, for the challenges ahead. Good luck Let me know about your progress Osu
@@kyokushinsociety OSU! Thank you so much Sensei! Is there a way I can contact you through email so we can talk more in detail about my training? Like how many days a week should I train? How many times a day should I train? My flexibility needs work my right mawashi geri is not good. Should I lift weights, punch the heavy bag, calisthenics? Thanks you Osu!
You can keep me posted on this thread if you like I can’t tell you that as only you know your body and capability your strengths and your weaknesses how much conditioning you have and how your mental fortitude is towards training You and only you and probably your Sensei :) that sees you in class training day after day will know how many extra hours you can train for at what intensity when to stop and rest and when to push on etc.. if you are able to asses yourself truthfully and look at your strengths and weaknesses and see them for what they are all these questions you have you will be able to answer yourself and furthermore You will be able to develop your own schedule that works for your needs and at the same time build on it as you progress Osu
@@kyokushinsociety Osu! I will keep you posted on my training

Would you happen to have an email address where I can contact you to ask a question about Karate that has been on my mind for quite some time now? It would help me greatly if I get a master's proper answer.
I am merely a master :) If I don’t know the answer to your question maybe my master will :) Thank you for the kind words Edited message I didn’t have a email set up yet so I just set up an email for this account thanks to your message That way people can reach me easier Osu kyokushinsociety@gmail.com Osu

Great explanation. But truly, the concept of “Budo” is derived from “Bujutsu.” The theory of the transition between “Bushido” to “Budo” is not entirely wrong. If we look at a timeline: We started with “Jujutsu,” which then became “Judo.” Then “Kenjutsu” became “Kendo.” During the times of “Tode/Tote,” or “The Hand from China,” early Karate wa a truly designed for combat (Karate Jutsu). Just to name some Kyokushin Kata and what they mean for example Seiunchin, loosely translates to “To Suppress and Conquer.” Or Saifa/Saiha loosely translates to “To Smash and Tear.” Just to name the “weaponized” Kata’s. Budo is a newer idea stemming from Kano Jigoro and Funakoshi Gichin. Two highly respected pioneers. Judo is simply watered down Jujutsu (Kano removed some of the more devastating moves like Kotegaeshi, Nikkyo, Munchi Mawari, etc.). Shotokan is watered down Shuri Te. I know it sounds like a dramatic stance, but Motobu Choki and Funakoshi Gichin did have an alleged fight where Motobu was the winner. He was combat focused (Okinawan Kempo essentially) and Funakoshi was focused on perfection of character. Not wrong to emphasize Budo, but we can’t stray away from Bujutsu either. Rener Gracie once said: “The more you know how to fight, the less you have to.” Fighto! OSU!!!
