    Great video, I have teenagers learning to drive in Taunton, Wickes roundabout is a pain. It’s hard in the moment to explain all the things you need to be alert to when spotting a gap. These videos really help.

    In the first clip. You say it will be misleading to go straight from the right lane. Haha. It clearly shows you can't go straight from the right lane. So not misleading, just wrong.

    • @DrivingSimply
      @DrivingSimply Месяц назад

      @FoxArcher hi thanks for commenting! Actually it's not illegal to use the right lane to go ahead as lane arrows are there as guidance and to create a safe system. I do agree it is normally wrong to use the right lane to go ahead. It has a misleading effect since it is marked to turn right only. My two pence anyway. Have a great day!

    • @FoxArcher
      @FoxArcher Месяц назад

      @DrivingSimply So your saying that lane markings are for guidance only. Doesn't that mean that this video is pointless then? Just use any lane. That's the problem we have now.

    • @DrivingSimply
      @DrivingSimply Месяц назад

      @FoxArcher no, I think you've missed my point. Lane markings are essential.

      @@DrivingSimply Are you saying that the lane markings in the right hand lane are wrong? And should show straight on and right. Like they used too.

      The argument of whether it is wrong to mislead or misleading someone is wrong has been debated from the early cave days till these modern days of Elon wisdom.However if I were an ambulance driver bringing a poorly person to a hospital then it would be neither wrong or misleading to take the right hand lane if I thought it would be the quickest route across the roundabout.I would of course have my blue light on and audible warnings to other road users.To further confuse this issue if I were an ambulance driver taking a poorly person to a hospital I would be going in the wrong direction if I was going in either the right hand or the left hand lane as I need the segregated lane to the left to take the quickest route.

      The new parallel parking alert system is a great idea as my granddaughter when intending to parallel park activates a purple flashing beacon on the roof of the car accompanied by a recorded repeating verbal announcement , ( security, security, security, this vehicle intends to change position, please keep clear ) the combined flashing spinning purple lamp along with the repeating verbal announcement broadcasted through a loud speaker system helps other road users understand that her vehicle is performing a restricted movement stop and park exercise.

      @arshadmahmood9718 great question. Absolutely, you can use the reverse camera in your driving test, although you still need to demonstrate effective all-round observations for other road users throughout your manoeuvre. I would take full advantage of the reverse cam during my driving test.

    • @DrivingSimply
      @DrivingSimply 21 день назад

      If you take the highway code rule word for word, the answer to this question is no. However, in some circumstances, yellow boxes have been painted to cover excessive road and when turning left from minor to major, stopping in the yellow box will have no affect on through/crossing traffic. I'm not advocating that you do it though, unless it's absolutely necessary due to congestion issues and you are willing to contest the potential penalty if caught, which you would win the case 😉
