You have a gun vice, never waste ammo turning turrets. Pull the bolt, look down the bore, adjust the gun vice until the bore is lined up with the target center, THEN adjust the reticle to match the bore and send a round down range. It should NEVER take more then 3 rounds to sight in a bolt gun.

Wish the still made the 200... i have one in 223.. its the most accurate rifle i own.. 1/2 moa at 100 yards with factory 55gr vmax

308 can not shoot a 250 grain bullet at 2900 fps , un heard uv 3100 iff 130 grains

I have one in 270, the stevens 200 was probably one of the best econo guns ever.

The 308 can shoot a 250 GR bullet 2900 fps the 30-06 will shoot the 150 GR bullet 3100 fps and the 300 win will shoot the 250 GR bullet 3400 fps.

Try a 7 mag carries more energy farther - @ 400 ish depending on bullet it surpasses .300 energy - aerodynamics are key in windy conditions- Montanamarksman
