I think people severely under estimate how strong base Luffy was at the start of the series (I was one of those people). Luffy upon entering the grand line would have already been one of the strongest people in the first half of the grand line. This is clearly demonstrated by the fact that Zoro low diffed 100 (supposedly) elite bounty hunters in Whiskey Peak. The monster trio are not lightweights by any means. If it doesn’t seem like they are top tiers in paradise, it’s because Luffy routinely punches above his weight. Crocodile, Enel, Lucci, Moria; these people are the pinnacle of strength in the first half of the grand line. Luffy is actually not stronger than any of them at the time of fighting them, but often through willpower, circumstance and mental amps he is able to overcome them. He may not have haki at the time, but his willpower is certainly overwhelming.

Even without his DF, Luffy was physically stronger than Arlong, so I wouldn't use anything from East Blue against him.

One Piece fans are so diverse, you bound to run into some trashy people. I mean I recently downloaded twitter to check out OP spoilers and I somewhat got a grasp of how the OP community looks like. Everybody do be pushing their agenda for their fav character. It's literally different personalities that like different characters and like the show for different reasons. And honestly: I love it. I definitely see why people who get caught in the dumpsterfire and didn't want to have any of that OP talk are pissed off but for people like me who just love to hear those different takes, it's really engaging. Yes there is a lot of brainrot, yes the fans are on astronomical copium levels when it comes to their fav character but that's what makes it so good. As somebody that cannot understand some of these takes, that cannot comprehend why the hell there are so many Mihawk fans, Zoro fans, Akainu fans loves the fact that there is fucking discourse. Because whatever may happen in the story, every fanbase is editing those mangapanels and highlighting the text, just so that it fits well for them and their agenda. Maybe it's just me because I recently really found out what people meant by "agenda" and "notorious OP fans" but I love that there is so much discourse, especially around characters that shouldn't and wouldn't have any discourse in another story. It's solely in One Piece that there are so many different opinions coming together, yes a lot of brainrot and a lot of copium but at least shit is happening and there is to this day not a single character's fanbase that is clearly winning the fight. I mean Zoro fans are permanently catching strays (mainly because they are delusional on intergalactic levels), I must say, but at least they keep enduring, you gotta respect that. And yes, Roger wouldn't slam Garp, he would beat him, but also be huffin and puffin, barely being able to stand afterwards. Roger gets way too overhyped and overestimated for no real reason. He may be stronger than any pirate in the story so far (except for Joyboy and Ryuma) but people are elevating Roger to some god status which definitely isn't the case. Nobody is arguing that Roger's weak, he just isn't high- or middiffing any of the yonko or admirals.

Majority of characters are just regular pirates like Blackbeard, big mom, kaido, dofi, kid, etc just that the story doesn’t really focus on them raiding n stealing from villages but we know it actively happens due to everyone’s reactions to pirates in majority of the islands they go to n the history as to why they do even luffy actively says to anyone that says pirates are good guys no their not just there are relatively good ppl who are pirates

I know you hate One Piece fans but here me out 1. The Fandom The fandom is one of the worst, there’s no lie in that; however let me put into perspective something. Before 2015 you wouldn’t hear OP fans anywhere and if you did it was the usual " You like that series I think you'll like One Piece " or " Give One Piece a chance I know it looks goofy but it is not " also, back then OP fans used to love every other fandom as well as their IP. Luffy vs Krillin This has many factors in play Dragon ball scales higher so Krillin should technically be stronger however Luffy has Durability Negation on top of having planet level AP based on how haki functions. So even if krillin could destroy a universe and person with the ability to negate durability would still be able to hurt them regardless if they are not as powerful. Krillin is stronger but Luffy is just to ridiculous especially in Gear 5. Bro can casually turn the biosphere of an entire island into rubber, he can manipulate energy, has hammer space, can reattach scars. Bro is so powerful that his Bajrang Gun sent Kaido crashing down so hard that he went through the island of Onigashima, Wano's earth crust, down into a magma chamber deeper than Old Wano.
