Sept 2020 MEPS During Covid/Hotel Tour
Просмотров 1254 года назад
I just recently went to Meps on 09/07-09/08. Part two later on.
Hey, quick question about joining the airforce or military in general.. so speaking hypothetically, if you had a medical condition when you were younger and provided all the necessary paperwork to your recruiter. Then afterwards, you get authorized to go to meps.. does that mean your medical waiver was approved? Thank you,
Not exactly. I was sent to MEPs before my waiver was approved and did the physical and everything, but I wasn’t able to choose my MOS/sign my contract/swear in until a couple months later. I almost got through everything that day lol but at the last minute, I mentioned my waiver (I guess they had forgot) and that’s when they sent me away to get all my documentation in.
@@KimberlyBroussard-l9l got it. Thank you
i just enlisted as a 68 whiskey. i thought you only have 3 chances to pass the NREMT before you are reclassed?
Unless they changed it since 2021, then it should be still 6. It was originally 3 and done before Covid.
How long did the waiver actually take to get approved
It took around 4 1/2 months.
Ahhh I’m at Echo Company right now about to do the NREMT on Monday!
Good luck. Try to pass it the first time so you get Phase V right away so you won’t have to march to dinner chow anymore.
Also, narcan the baby!!
Thanks for the video. Now I know more about waivers.
I submitted mine in December and in March still heard nothing back.
I started my process in August and my waiver was approved at the end of November. It’s honestly case by case depending on your waiver. If you have all of your paperwork in order then it shouldn’t be that much longer. Remember that your recruiter knows just as much you do. It’s out of their hands until they get word
Was it difficult I have no prior health care experience I’m going 68w I got a 70 after studying the asvab 3 hours a day for an entire month… I hear you take like 1-2 test a week
I didn’t have any health care experience at all. You just gotta learn how to prioritize your time and study. During the EMT phase, we had a test like every 4-7 days. It was around 10 chapters per test
my partner just left for basic and then he’ll be going to sam houston for 68W AIT, thank you for all the info, makes me feel a lot better to know all that he’ll be experiencing : )
What is the physical aspect like? That’s really the only thing I’m nervous about like rucks and the acft?
Hey what’s up! So Monday-Friday you do PT as a company. You start off with the Prep Drill which is 10 exercises. Then depending on the day, you’ll run or do circuit training (events that the DS comes up with). For 68w we only had one ruck and that was at Camp Bullis on the final day; it was like a 3mile ruck at your own pace. You only have to take one ACFT. You don’t have to pass it tho; don’t let them tell you that you do. But overall, it’s not hard when it comes to the physical aspect.
What'd you need your waiver for
I had brain surgery when I was in high school
@@kimmygogetem7004 thanks for replying. I hope I get a waiver approved. Did you have your own room at fort drum?
Yes I have my own room. Go watch my room tour video

You’re welcome. Ima make an updated video detailing things like how often we received mail and phone calls and when we had the chance to write letters. Should be out this weekend. Stay tuned 🤗

Damn I'm going to Sill as a 68W too. Oct 4.
Good luck. You’ll be good
Same!
Does anyone leave sept 7th
Thanks for sharing! My Husband just got there 3 days ago!! He's also 68W. This helped alot.
Did they take your sports bra/underwear or did they let you wear it through basic? Leaving Sunday and wanting to use my own. Thanks
As long as you have basic colors then they’ll let you wear it. No lace type material or anything that you might think looks cute. Basic is the way to go with undergarments
@@kimmygogetem7004 thank you so much!
How long did getting recycled slow down your graduation?
I was supposed to graduate on April 16th. Ended up graduating on May 28th
Yo, if youre the alpha company after I was, best of luck! It's tough there
Yes!!! Alpha is the worst company. I hate it here.
@@kimmygogetem7004 May i ask what drills you got?
@cameronyeats7262 got back November from alpha, yall get to gold plus?

@@kimmygogetem7004 Thank you I appreciate it. I’m looking forward to it.
@@christinafaraca2572 my MOS is 68g patient admin assistant. Hbu?
Why were you being so disrespectful? I get that you shouldn’t take shit from other people but they are your superior NCO’s and If you want to be in the Army you are going to have to get used to being yelled at for non sense.
Keep your head up. I suggest getting in the right mindset. Understand that this career you have chosen will only be what you make of it.
Bcuz that’s the mindset that I had going in. I’m not like that anymore tho. I have respect for every single NCO now. But I get what you mean. Ima make an updated video on it.
Hey, My man is there right now. Delta 1-22ND FA BN 4h Platoon Bay. Are you still there? I wanna send him a care package, but I’m curious if there is a certain limit on how many oz of products we can send. You know how the air Or has limits, I was seeing if they had restrictions like that. Let me know though.
Hi this is patty Kim’s wife. They do have restrictions on what you can have shipped to him. For Kim I only shipped things that she needed and then of course extra things that are allowed like pictures to keep her going or cough drops sometimes hygiene products. You should be reviewing a call from him on Sunday when u do ask him if there’s anything he needs. Also I just posted 5 tips about being a military wife video feel free to check it out and if you need help with anything else let me know!!
You got recycled for being greedy 🤣
Haha 😄
Do you need to pass ACFT to graduate? My recruiter said not a requirement
No. You don't have to pass it
@@kimmygogetem7004 you remember the eye test at reception?? Did they take pictures of your eye ? Or put those drops in your eye to dialate your pupils ?
Hello my son arrived at Fort Sill on 06/30 he called me at exactly 2:02am that was the last time I heard from him (lol it seems like forever) I received a message from Sandboxx but I don't know his Battalion, Battery and Platoon can you help me please I know he is a Canon Crew member Thank you
Hey this is patty im Kim’s wife I’m gonna be posting videos on our channel from a military spouse perspective soon and I know I’m not a mom but I can definitely try to help you out. If you have Facebook join the fort sill basic training and ait group. They have lots of information on there that can help plus you’ll meet moms on the page you can relate and reach to. Also when if your son calls on Sunday you can ask for the info you need to write him back. If I’m not mistaken you said you received a letter from him through Sandboxx it will usually tell the battery and platoon that he’s in. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.
Your son should be receiving a 30 minute phone call tomorrow. He will get them every Sunday. He should be able to tell you his information on his call.
did you at any point get weighed again after the final trip to MEPS (during reception and basic)? im headed to meps on monday and then leaving that day. im going to make the weight but im afraid of going back over the weight during reception or basic and then being weighed again.
Nope. Once you leave MEPS after that final weigh in, you don't have to weigh in until Oct of either this year or next year. I don't remember which one, but the Army has suspended weigh-ins for now.
@@kimmygogetem7004 thanks I’ve been wondering if you get weighed again during basic. I know you get weighed during your army career but I’ve been told some people got weighed during basic and others never even saw a scale during basic.
I know at Fort Sill, they do not. And you don't have to worry, bcuz I lost over 30lbs during basic. You eat 3 meals a day plus exercise everyday. There's no room for snacking. So, you'll be ok.
@@kimmygogetem7004 thank you this helps a lot. I’m cutting water weight to make weight at MEPS and after I’m going to have to rehydrate which is going to make me gain some pounds of water back so that was worrying me. This helped a lot
@@kimmygogetem7004 I’m back from sill and vessey sucked. The first week was the worse bc of the getting used to everything and it was worse bc I was sick and dehydrated
Hi! What does it mean to be recycled? I am leaving less than two weeks as a 13B ( cannon crewmember )
What's up! Being recycled means that you have to restart training back to whatever the commander chooses. In my case, I had to redo 7 weeks of training. Just try to stay under the radar if you can and do the right thing.
@@kimmygogetem7004 Thank you So Much 💜💜
13B cool mos ima 35F but trust me don’t go airborne due to the units and the big chance of the 82nd 🤢 I lucked out and got group after airborne

is family day for 1 day?
Yes. From 9am-8pm I believe.
Do you know if they are still doing yellow phase I leave in a week
No. You do anywhere from 1-5 days of reception. Then you jump straight into red phase. Ima make a separate video on it, so be sure to subscribe and be on the lookout for it.
How long were you in reception? Was the reception process long? I'm leaving on July 26th to Fort Sill (68Q).
I only did reception for one day. Other people did for a week. I guess it depends on the battery you get assigned to. Thanks for checking out our vid
Omg in also leaving at July 26 to fort sill
Same I also leave July 26

I’m at fort sill now in task force Phoenix because I caught covid but I made it to red phase, reception took like a whole week and then we were in yellow phase for a week before I caught the coof in red phase. I just hope I don’t get recycled
You get your phone?
When I was at Task Force Phoenix, that whole Battery that caught covid ended up getting put right back in their same training week. So, I think you'll be good.
