Harness racing driver Leigh Fitch gets back on the horse
Yonkers King.. Every night that man win with donkeys and did it easy. 😊
I made so munch money with walter at yonkers and Northfield
he may be the best half mile track driver EVER
That's horse business
👍👍 Thanks for posting!
Glad he was in that Stable, alot of folks would not put up with the behavior and retaliate. Gr8 job Mint Man!
I would love to have seen the race, Congrats sir, you still got it.
Cheers to all the harness people....Im betting them 50 yrs.....I made my bones in Freehold mid 70s
👍👍
Case the Ace there was a time he was the very best.
Nothing better than a Fair on a sunny day!
Paul & Ronnie are old Liberty Bell friends...Still very grateful for that Thanksgiving day ride to N.H....GREAT to know you're still goin' around..turn left---turn left again...Best wishes to you always.
👍👍 love it!
Why was he gone from racing so long? He looks like a great driver just curious
I have been following him since the early 80s. Great driver! He was one of my Dad's favorite drivers and mine as well. I still go up and see him running at Cumberland raceway even in the last month. It is amazing to me that he is that age and keeps on keeping on. He is a true inspiration!!
He was the best I ever saw. And I have seen alot of them. Never fixed a race in his life
That’s my horse
😄😄 Most folks keep & train trotters so they can race them, & that's fine. I think I race trotters so I can have the fun of caring for them, and so I can enjoy jogging them and going for training trips with them. Call me different, that's fine too! 😅
Nice drive, though I was surprised he made that inside move on the far turn! Gutsy!
He's not a bad driver.
That was a great move, experience there, he seen the 2 on the outside where done and the lead horse was still the best, he was hoping lead horse was gonna bear out but he didn't and that almost cost him but he got there.
Paul used to drive for my parents, years ago! 😄👍
There's the part of driving hoppled pacers that gives me the willies. Any time they break into a run they can trip and fall. Part of the game, I know. Kudos to Leigh for getting back in the bike; I remember him as a younger driver, and he could drive a horse.
My family still owns the horse
I had to hang it up from the game @40. 5 back surgeries, 2 on lthe left shoulder. Now fully retired wishing I could have another go round. I remember Leigh and yes ,he could get one home!👍🤞✌️
He was the king of Yonkers for a while.
A shame.what a waste of talent.
How can I contact you? Do you have a email?
They don't make them like that anymore, we can learn so much from these oldtimers and most of them love to offer up their knowledge!!
I love the aura of this video, such great memories!!!!!!!!!!!!
I seen first hand, he improved a horse 3 seconds first time on it! and catch drive a winless horse and they would win! This happened at the now, demolished Raceway Park in Toledo Ohio.
I heard he is living right now with Lenny Dykstra.
They've been dating for over three years. A great couple. You don't see that type of love these days. Two of the good guys, as well.
@@jowinewbandz7056 I admit that is damned funny!
@@kevinmcdonald6477 Walter uses the steak knives at the cook outs. Lenny supplies the clean cars and the guests.
great job
That's great football.....I'm a proud Viking myself and last time Oxford Hill's Vikings went to state finals was when I was a freshman they have a hell of a team and it looks like they deffinatly played there hearts out #1 Travis D Van Durme was probably there and watching it would have been great to get the state title but there's a bigger reason to strive for victory next year,🇺🇸🏈🏉👍👏🔥🙏🙏🙏
He is the BEST. Always loved watching Walter. Sorry to hear of all the hardships he's been thru.
Living legend
Pay a lot to learn about Climate Change, that doesn’t exist, liberal grooming college,I knew it.
Walter, always gave us a fair and good drive, cant say that for everybody..great to see him.
Would love to see him go back to NY.. he deserves another chance... he ranks in my top 10 drivers of all time
No 2nd chance stay out of NY scumbag
I welcome Walter back. I only got a brief moment to chat with him while on vacation in maine. Walter was suspended at Yonkers so he was at Scarboro (I often go to Old Orchard beach live in NYC and Dutchess county both) the rain was pouring so no one was outside so during a score I said hello and asked if he was coming back to Yonkers and he was polite and told me "yes in a couple of weeks" it was a little more rare back then early 90's maybe to have a driver even look at you so I felt good about the guy. He made some major mistakes but we all screw up it is a matter of degrees and who knows what state of mind he was in. So I'm glad he is back but wish he was more involved with the community like a Jason Bartlette. (who is my favorite driver now-he is extremely polite by the way and we cheer him on about once a week at YR) Good luck Walt
The great Ron Pierce is the nicest most gracious horseman I've ever met and I've met many over the years working as a track maintenance man at freehold raceway for 30 years. I always liked Casey, back in the day when he'd drive at freehold. In my opinion Walter was the best half mile oval driver in history.Even better than Herve.
He could win from any position THE BEST they will never be another one like him
Hands down the best driver, on a half mile track.
Good luck Walter you were the best that ever was.
We all make mistakes in life. Wishing you the best for your new beginning. "Let he who hath not sinned cast the first stone".
Yes, just like OJ killing those 2 people or that Sandwich guy fucking little boys with Wonderbread or the guy from Hollywood who feels the need to screw everyone before he says cut or that gay actor who has a closet full of young boys. Yes, all mistakes. Live and let live...
@@mrautomatic9087 I am no fan of Case's incidents. They're bad. But not as bad as the other examples you gave.
stop kicking walter you dont need to cheat to beat these guys ! Use you shot wisely !
He cant help himself.
Just like jockeys who use cattle prods or cheater trainers. Walter, 2nd chance?
Ugb
Classy person. A legend
I've been attending the harness races at the annual Walworth, WI, County Fair for about the past decade. Nice small town fair. This was the first time I was able to witness this truly American sport in person. The trainers, drivers, and owners were so nice compared to other horse events. The horses also were so laid back and friendly once they were cooled down and in their stalls. My experiences at Walworth have turned me into a fan!
My Trainer and business partner
Thanks. In fact, Adam just collected his first win, at the Union (Maine) Fair, with the same horse in the video, Lightning Spur.
Exceptional video footage and story line. May the horse be with you Adam.
Yeah boooooyyyy! Go Adam
He is a riding horse in Virginia.
Adam is 39. He's been a second trainer for other stables for some time, and this year opened his own stable. As part of that, he wants to get his driving license.
wtg, kid
I love that the gold standard is smaller than Lady Katy :) I knew Katy very well, and I think I have yet to meet a pacer smaller than she is!
