them icks yeah... there's so many to mention. my biggest one is people sharing a dub via stories to flex on others when we know they aren't even that happy/bothered about copping the shoe. Icl, a lot of the icks revolve around the OS sneaker community. I wouldn't say it's OS or anyones fault in particular, but this is a by-product following the lockdown surge of demand for sneakers. It created such a competitive environment that people will comment on every OS post just to be 'seen' and have their voice 'heard'. I've done it in the past myself but stepped out of that realm a few years ago when I realised the impact it was having on my mentality. Like any community though, nothing is all bad, or all good. So it's just a case of being more selective and protecting your energy imo. But I'm with Kesi on the sneakerheads revolving everything around their shoe. I used to do that in year 7-9. We're adults now... I get everyone has their thing that they're into but for me it's just not it. Gate-keeping? not it. In my experiences, those who scream "Bots took everything" are usually the most far removed from the whole bot culture. I acc feel that people just scream it when they don't get something to provide themselves comfort and peace of mind that it wasn't due to their inability, but more so due to someone 'cheating' the system. But lying on the gram that you don't like the shoe is the most childish of them all. Especially when a few days later they have in on their foot. Most of these icks I don't see cos I'm more at arms length. But when I do see em, it grosses me out. Like what are you doing? One of my friends mentioned to me about a study into the correlation of sneakerheads and Introversion. Supposedly that sneakerheads are more likely to look down at peoples feet as they're not as confident socially. I think it's an interesting correlation/conversation and I can see how this aligns with several of the icks you guys mentioned. At the end of the day, like many other things, sneakers have become another outlet for people to showcase what they have. So it's no surprise when people get lost in the rabbit hole and also lose who THEY are as a person, since everything becomes revolved around leather n suede footwear that is desired by many...

Them vomeros are schweeeet! Nike put in good effort for the Lost & Founds (for once loool). I agree with Kesi, Salehe's look best in the vibrant colours. But the convo regarding fast fashion is so important. I never really subscibed to the idea of getting new pieces for a specific event, unless it was important/ formal. Over the last few years I've been shopping with the timeless aspect in mind, which is why I've had a very simplistic and minimistic look over this past year. Oversized white Uni Qlo tee, MHL trousers, and a Dickies Eisenhower work jacket. Starter pack/ essentials. I try to add additional pieces from fast fashion places, but usually ones with a good level of versatility. If I had to get rid of all fast fashion pieces I've bought, I think I'd still have an okay wardrobe. Similar to MBT, If I see something I like that's more expensive, I will buy it or add it to my list to buy. I don't think I'm a big subscriber of fashion trends either. That's not to say I haven't tagged along or drawn influence from them. I think it's hard not to especially when they just...work. Equally I hear you guys on buying less into streetwear. I think the basis of my fashion sense is comfy, streetwear influenced with a clean minimalist vibe. I've been trying to expand my wardrobe in a more formal sense i.e cardigans, berets with the plan to incorporate it into my streetwear identity, but also being more versatile and having a few smarter looks. Personal fashion is such an interest conversation, I love it. It's so unique to each and every person, but like a lot of things in life, there are many universal similiarities. For example, buying the right size can avoid a visit to the tailor, that's if you buy the right piece from the right place. But if you know you want a proper oversized look, it does make sense to get things tailored. For example, I got some Patta cords in an XL (Im a L) and the length and cut was correct for me. So I got that size and took it to the tailor to have the waist taken in 2 inches. They now fit me perfectly. Probably the best fitting trousers I own for sizing and comfort. Anyway, dope episode as always y'all. It's nice to finally be listen to you's again. Each episode I listen to, I'm reminded how funny you's are and why I've always enjoyed listening to the pod. I'm always chuckling at home or grinning on the train when listening. But I also love hearing the fashion, sneaker and music news as I'm not as tapped in. Especially when it's twitter related as I came off of twitter a good few yrs ago. Looking forward to the next🔊💗
